"Solid no-nonsense MOT. Additionally I was sure my brake pads needed replaced, but that wasn’t the case. The guys took a photo to show me and helped me avoid extra costs. Highly recommend this garage."
"Very good service, thanks, very prompt and very polite."
"Brilliant service. Really great at explaining everything. Did everything efficiently! Would definitely recommend."
Good, honest local garage
"Well run, owner managed local garage. Genuine, honest and friendly service at a reasonable price. Hard to find these days. Much better overall value and customer experience than any main dealer or fast fit place. Much appreciated. Thanks Craig."
A problem free MOT
"I used the online booking system but I had to phone to confirm the car was booked in. I did ask for an AM appointment but the car wasn't ready until 4pm although it passed MOT first time."
"The garage kept in touch regularly to keep me updated of what was being done. Very friendly and professional. Easy to approach and good value for money."
Great Efficient Service
"Absolutely no problems. Done quickly, most definitely back next year"
Fast and reliable service
"I had an MOT and service. The work was done quickly and I was kept informed throughout the day of progress. I suspected before my car went in that the 2 front tyres needed to be replaced. The garage advised that the 2 I thought needed to be replaced were low on tread but still within reasonable limits to pass the MOT but advised that the rear tyres were damaged. They took photos of the damage to the tyres to show me on collection and explained the likely impact had I continued to drive on them. The price quoted for the tyres was very good so I opted to replace them all. Overall the full cost of the service, MOT and 4 tyres was very good and I have already booked our second car booked in for a service and MOT at Steins later this month."
Easy and Fast
"Booked online the night before, turned up the next afternoon, MOT completed and car back to me same afternoon. Very friendly staff."
"After completion of the work car purrs like the day it left the forecourt"
"Good, friendly and efficient service. Should remove some things from their website which they don't offer though e.g. Pick up and drop off."
"I had my service a couple of months ago and went back for my MOT. Great service, and gives straightforward advise and information"
Edinburgh deserves its reputation as one of the most striking and compelling cities in the world. It’s an ancient place steeped in history but is also a modern, dynamic capital. It hosts one of the most famous cultural festivals in the world, as well as cutting-edge art, captivating bars and great restaurants. It radiates an animated, chic ambience with a distinctly Scottish twist.
Edinburgh is a city of extraordinary contrasts: you can dine in Michelin starred restaurants or sample deep fried Mars Bars, switch from cocktails to pints, and traverse historic green spaces next to urban streets. These opposites are also reflected in the stunning architecture, from the ancient castle, medieval tenements and ‘wynds’ of the Old Town, to the genteel elegance of the Georgian New Town. It seems fitting that the city is the spiritual home of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, the fictional split-personality character dreamt up by writer Robert Louis Stevenson. In fact, Edinburgh’s literary and publishing heritage dates back centuries and it became the world’s first UNESCO City of Literature in 2005.
The centre of Edinburgh is fairly compact, so it’s wise to park in one of the numerous car parks and explore the romantic cobbled streets on foot. Climb any of Edinburgh’s ‘Seven Hills’ and the view towards the city with Edinburgh Castle at its heart is simply beautiful.
Drive out of the city and you’ll discover an endless supply of scenic countryside and fascinating places to explore throughout Lothian. Pale beaches on unspoilt nature reserves are on Edinburgh’s doorstep, and so are ancient castles, picturesque villages and some of the oldest and most spectacular golf courses in the world.
The Edinburgh City Bypass arcs around the south of the city, and links the A1 to the north-east of England, the A702 towards the north-west of England, and the M8 through the central belt towards Glasgow. If you do opt for motorway driving into the city or beyond into the north of the country, be prepared for slow moving traffic and delays – the M8 has one of the lowest average speeds in the country. It’s also good to know that there is only one service station (at Harthill) along its 60 mile stretch. Check out the many alternative A routes for a more scenic drive.
