Customers generally praise the thorough, high-quality service, with one reviewer particularly pleased by the nice touch of a complimentary wash and wax after their MOT. A booking mix-up was raised by one customer, though this appeared linked to a third-party booking system rather than the garage itself, so clearer communication around appointment confirmations may help avoid similar frustration in future.
Dropped car off for MOT at 8 am and it was done, as requested by 12 noon which made the afternoon much easier to navigate. Very prompt, efficient service, reasonably priced, good spacious car park too.
Well, I don’t think it was the Garage’s fault. I booked the service with Book My Garage. I took the day off work, when I got there, the garage had no record of me booking a service. What a complete waste of my time.

Thank you for your feedback, and we’re really sorry to hear about the inconvenience you experienced. After reviewing the booking history, we can confirm that the booking was successfully sent to the garage on 1st March. The garage did not open the booking until 2nd March, and we then sent a reminder on 3rd March, which was opened the same day. This means the garage were fully aware of your appointment, and it appears the issue occurred on their side, as the booking unfortunately seems to have slipped through the net. We appreciate how frustrating this must have been, especially as you took time off work, and we’re working with the garage to ensure this doesn’t happen again. If you’d like us to help rearrange the booking or discuss this further, please feel free to get in touch.
Everything was absolutely as it should be. The bonus was they washed and waxed my car after MOT which was a nice touch.

Most reviewers praise the friendly, professional staff and the helpful communication, with several highlighting updates by video, a free wash and prices noticeably lower than larger chains. A small number of customers, however, reported booking mix-ups and poor communication that left them waiting or without a record of their appointment, and the health check reports could be clearer, as one reviewer felt items marked as urgent had not actually been inspected. With an average of 4.2 out of 5 across 50 reviews, the experience is generally strong, though clearer booking and quoting processes may benefit a few customers.

Frequently asked questions
During an air con regas, a technician will use a specialised machine to remove the old refrigerant, usually check for any leaks within the system and, if all is well, refill the system with the right amount of fresh refrigerant and lubricating oil.
During an air conditioning service, a technician will complete the same recharging process but will give your system a proper inspection. This usually includes:
● A full visual inspection of the system
● Completing a pressure test
● Checking that the entire system works properly (all the switches, thermostats etc)
● Checking the temperature of the condenser while it is in use
However, this can vary from garage to garage. All these extra checks mean that a service is more expensive than a recharge.
• Low system pressure, typically caused by a leak or the failure of a component.
• Lack of use can place unexpected stress on components when the system is eventually turned on.
• The build-up of bacteria can make the air from your air conditioning system unhealthy.
• A lack of cold air when you switch the system on.
• A noisy or inefficient system that seems to struggle to cool the cabin
• Condensation on the inside of the windscreen
• Musty or other funny smells when you use the air conditioning
If you notice any of the above symptoms, you should book an air con regas in York as soon as possible.
What’s more, if the refrigerant level drops too low, it will stop working altogether. If this happens, you may see problems in the long run as well. Pipes can easily seize and crack if the system isn’t used for long periods of time.
Moreover, failing to service your air conditioning system can allow mould and harmful bacteria to develop and filter into the cabin. These can be harmful if breathed in.
