"Happy with service"
"A very friendly and helpful garage who knew exactly what he was talking about. Highly recommend!"
Service,mot and repair
"the service and MOT was arranged over the net, with a note saying the brakes were making a noise,it was dropped off at 8.30 and was due to picked up at 5.15pm we heard nothing until I rang about 4pm to find out what was going on,was told it needed the brake pads/discs replacing which they couldn't do till next day-just a bit surprised we weren't notified sooner - otherwise happy with the work"
Great value and service
"Really efficient and friendly service. Advised me on what needed to be done and did it for a reasonable price and quickly too. Was kept informed of what was happening throughout the whole experience. Will be returning."
"it seems to be ok and a reasonable price too"
"Great service, collected vehicle promptly, advised on work needed, and delivered vehicle back same day."
"Fantastic people and service, excellent value!"
Very good service
"Very happy customer"
"This is my third visit to this garage and I have been impressed by their service and attentiveness to customers. I had a very minor niggle following the oil change which was addressed immediately with no quibbles, just a friendly, courteous and professional customer service. Following the service I asked if the garage would kindly investigate a further issue identified following an earlier MOT elsewhere. They were happy to do so without charge and produced a video healthcheck of my vehicle. The garage doesn't allow customers into the workshop and beneath vehicles on ramps (understandable due to H&S...) but will produce a video highlighting any faults which I found invaluable. I will return with confidence and recommend without hesitation. Thank you to this 'Secret Service' garage from a happy customer."
Coolant is a specially-formulated chemical liquid, commonly known as antifreeze, that circulates through a car’s engine. It removes excess heat from a car’s engine by passing it through the car’s radiator. Furthermore, the solution contains inhibitors that protect the metal, plastic and rubber in the cooling system from corrosion. And, as the name antifreeze suggests, it also doesn’t freeze up in bitterly cold conditions, so it plays an important role in a car all year long.
Coolant levels should be checked frequently, at least every 3-6 months. Low coolant can cause overheating, which would have serious implications for other components on the car. Even though coolant can leak and evaporate over time, in many cars it often looks as though the coolant never needs changing because its level seems to stay the same. However, draining and flushing the coolant system, including the radiator, at least once a year is important. Flushing pushes out all the old coolant, debris from corrosion and scale. If left in the engine, it may become clogged up, potentially causing extensive damage.
Before a mechanic drains the cooling system, he might add coolant cleaner to the coolant and then start the engine, depending on what the manufacturer specifies. After the car has run for a while, he would turn it off and drain it. He would then add water to flush it and drain it again, twice, before finally putting in the fresh coolant.
