"Happy with work and only took a morning - would use garage again"
"Quick response to online booking. Friendly. Helpful."
Fast & friendly
"Friendly, efficient establishment. Glad there are still garages like this around. Highly recommended."
Would use again
"Found on CheckATrade due to the positive reviews and I was very happy I chose Shergold. Family run, pleasant staff, excellent value. As a young female with little mechanical knowledge it is important to me that garage staff explain work/repairs clearly without being patronising, which I felt this garage met. I will use Shergold again in future and recommend them."
"Really great service, very helpful and friendly throughout."
Always great service
"Taken 3 cars for servicing, always get excellent service and transparent billing."
Trusted garage services
"I have used Chris Palmer's for many years on different cars, always seem to offer a good service at reasonable prices - with better value via the bookmygarage site. I've always found the staff helpful and friendly."
Very good service
"I'm very happy with service. Original parts were used and quickly finished. Complementary car been given, old and dirty Micra which need a little bit of clean. Highly recommended."
"Very happy with service, great staff, not expensive"
"Very happy I chose Mikes Motor . Excellent service and very polite and prompt."
Would highly recommend
"This Company did exactly what they said they would. I selected the date and they delivered on the date that i requested (you would be surprised how many have not done this before). They made the whole process easy by collecting my car at the time they said they would and delivering it back speedily. They kept me informed before and during of what would be happening. If i was to make just one small recommendation it would be to bring the car back with a little valet as this is what some of the bigger chains do and it is a nice touch. I would definitely come back to you though."
"No problems very accommodating regarding timescales. Had a call a few days before as a reminder."
Coolant is a specially-formulated chemical liquid, commonly known as antifreeze, that circulates through a car’s engine. It removes excess heat from a car’s engine by passing it through the car’s radiator. Furthermore, the solution contains inhibitors that protect the metal, plastic and rubber in the cooling system from corrosion. And, as the name antifreeze suggests, it also doesn’t freeze up in bitterly cold conditions, so it plays an important role in a car all year long.
Coolant levels should be checked frequently, at least every 3-6 months. Low coolant can cause overheating, which would have serious implications for other components on the car. Even though coolant can leak and evaporate over time, in many cars it often looks as though the coolant never needs changing because its level seems to stay the same. However, draining and flushing the coolant system, including the radiator, at least once a year is important. Flushing pushes out all the old coolant, debris from corrosion and scale. If left in the engine, it may become clogged up, potentially causing extensive damage.
Before a mechanic drains the cooling system, he might add coolant cleaner to the coolant and then start the engine, depending on what the manufacturer specifies. After the car has run for a while, he would turn it off and drain it. He would then add water to flush it and drain it again, twice, before finally putting in the fresh coolant.
