Took my car on the alloted date and time ,only to be told the mot tester was on holiday and couldn't do my car until 14th April, mot due the 7th ,no one even bothered to contact me to say there was no mot person available that day ,very poor service

Hi Michael sorry to hear about the miscommunication regarding your last booking . there was an attempt to call you and there was an email sent to your to the email provided by book my garage , this email was sent at 9.30am on the 10th of march , only a day after the booking above . this email explained that the MOT tester was on annual leave and asked for you to contact us regarding an alternative booking time. please feel free to contact the office and ask for Adam if you have any other questions .

“Lack of care and understanding”

I booked my MOT with P&T Motors and made it clear several times that I would likely need one or two tyres. At no point was I told that tyres are not kept in stock. As a result, my car failed its MOT and I was left with no option but to drive illegally to another centre to replace them, causing unnecessary stress and risk. This situation could have been avoided with clear communication. I expect this to be addressed.

Sorry for the confusion. Your booking came through as an MOT slot, with a note stating: “No issues as far as I know. There is a possibility I may need to replace at least 1 tyre.” We don’t stock tyres, we only order them when specifically requested, and no tyre enquiry was made at the time. Unfortunately, the tyre was already illegal before the MOT, with exposed cords, so the “dangerous” notice didn’t increase the risk, it was already present, and as a vehicle user we'd expect you to have been already aware of this. Again, sorry you feel the MOT test put you at risk .
