Great friendly staff
Coming from the Korean word for “modernity”, Hyundai was founded as a small construction firm in South Korea in 1947, but didn’t become the Hyundai Motor Company until 20 years later. Currently, Hyundai is the fourth largest vehicle manufacturer in the world, operating the world's largest integrated automobile manufacturing facility, with cars sold in nearly 200 countries. That’s serious business!
The company is known for building a fairly traditional set of saloons, city cars, SUVs, and hatchbacks, as well as a very large i800 MPV.
Both the Tucson and the Santa Fe offer a good combination of practicality, a commanding driving position and decent value for money in the face of fierce competition. The compact yet surprisingly spacious i10 supermini is one of Hyundai’s highest rated cars.
About the Hyundai i20
There are two versions of the Hyundai i20 - the regular version, and a slightly taller one called the i20 Active. With improved fuel economy on its predecessor, as well as eco-friendly lower CO2 emissions, the i20 is definitely competitive with other superminis in the market. It comes with loads of standard equipment, such as electric front windows, adjustable (and heatable!) door mirrors, and remote central locking.
What issues should you keep an eye out for? The steering column can be a bit noisy from time to time, and some drivers of the Hyundai i20 have had trouble with the shocks as well as broken cranks.
Common problems with Hyundai
Since Hyundai is producing nearly 2 million cars a year, there’s a lot of opportunity for issues to arise! For example, if you’re driving a Hyundai Tuscon, you may notice that you experience poor fuel mileage, transmission lock-ups, or even premature tyre wear. If you’re in a Hyundai Matrix, you may be one of the few who has struggled with leaking coolant. And if you whizz around town in a Hyundai Genesis you could see electric failures or air bag deployments at bad times.
Don’t worry if these issues are bothering you, though - Book My Garage can help you find the Hyundai garage in your region to get you back out on the street as soon as possible.
