Good evening, Curtis. Thank you for your review. At Scotia Road Garage, we take pride in our workmanship and MOT testing. We are rated by the DVSA as a Green MOT testing station and carry out all inspections in line with DVSA guidelines. Regarding your concerns about force and damage to the vehicle’s metalwork, our testers only use the DVSA-approved Corrosion Assessment Tool, as required by MOT regulations. Your vehicle is 22 years old, and the corrosion found was within 30cm of a suspension mounting point. Under DVSA standards, this is a Major Defect and results in an MOT failure. We also note that the vehicle failed MOT tests at two other stations on 18 May 2026 and 27 May 2026. The MOT certificate issued on 17 April 2024 also included an advisory for corrosion in the same area. We assess every vehicle fairly and in line with the DVSA MOT Inspection Manual. While we understand an MOT failure is disappointing, our duty is to ensure vehicles meet the required safety standards.
