The vehicle failed its MOT due to engine oil leakage and additional safety-related defects identified during the inspection. Under DVSA MOT testing regulations, these defects are mandatory failure items and cannot be overlooked or passed at the tester’s discretion. An MOT is a legal safety requirement, not a service opinion. Passing a vehicle in this condition would be unlawful and could compromise road safety.
