"Really nice guys, kept me informed as the day went on and gave me the loan of a car whilst mine was being looked at. Price was good and work was excellent."
Very positive experience
"Very competitive price, and I liked the fact that a lift to or from home was offered online as part of the deal, though I did not use this service. Service light reset, service book updated. Just one small point: Total bill, as per website, simply stated total amount as being labour, whereas it would have been helpful to note on invoice that oil, filter etc had been replaced, even though this was ticked on service booklet."
Couldn't fault them
"No issues with our service and mot. Car needed a new tyre which they sourced and advised price prior. Happy with service."
"Very Happy with service, kept informed about work needed. Great garage will definitely use again."
"Great book online service which helps you decide whats best for you. Garage kept me updated on what was happening with the car and car all cleaned and ready to go on pick up. Would highly recommend.(female driver)"
"I would usually take my car to my local Arnold Clark for its service and MOT to a freelance mechanic in Braehead. This year I thought to use Drivers Autocentre on Firpark Street as I was quoted a good price online. They also provide a lift service and car loan which I took so that I could get about and not having to wait. My car has a problem of not passing the emissions test when it comes to the MOT. However, not only did it passed its emissions test and MOT I also saved a few hundred £'s if I had to take it to the mechanic in Braehead. Drivers Autocentre informed me by phone if any extra work was needed to be done and when my car was ready to be collected. Very good price and excellent service. I now know where to go for my car mechanical needs from now on."
"The mechanics here undertook a custom welding repair of my (very old) exhaust replacing the bad bits but keeping the DPF and CAT. Had some issues along the way but cost was not passed on to me and they even cleaned my DPF and forced a regen when it was clear that the reassembled exhaust had un-diagnosed DPF blockage - again at no extra cost. Would wholeheartedly recommend these guys for their pride in their work and their competence. Jamie, the shop manager couldn't have been more helpful in terms of his his initial advice and his feedback on later exhaust/DPF issues. Will use again."
"I dropped the car off at 9am and work was done within 2 hours. Excellent customer service."
"As usual always happy with anything I get done at bb autos the staff are great Brian as always very helpful can't do enough for his customers. Service with a smile as usual boys"
"Fast and friendly. Great local business."
Hassle free service
"Very pleased with the work carried out and the level of customer service I received from Jamie was top notch! Thanks again"
A car radiator disperses heat away from the main engine block. A car engine works by burning fuel (whether petrol or diesel), and this generates a considerable amount of heat. In addition, a car engine has many moving parts; this movement creates friction, which in turn adds to the heat.
Because a car engine must remain not too hot in order to avoid overheating and seizure, when it reaches a certain temperature the thermostat opens to allow the flow of coolant and water around the engine and back to the radiator, where it loses heat to the cooler surrounding air. The front grill of the car allows outside air to blow over the radiator. If the radiator gets too hot, for example on a very hot day, or when the car is stationary, a fan behind the radiator starts, helping to blow air over it.
The most common reason for needing a car radiator repair is a leak. There are many seals, gaskets and hoses in the cooling system that can deteriorate or get a hole in them. Furthermore, every radiator needs to be properly maintained and the coolant must be kept topped up. Your garage should provide coolant changes at the same time as your annual service.
It’s also a good idea to check your car’s coolant level regularly. If it seems to be dropping a lot, then you may have a leak in the cooling system.
