Introduction

www.bookmygarage.co.uk is a site operated by The Motorist Organisation (“TMO/We”). Book My Garage is a trading name of TMO.

We have developed the site to enable users to obtain details of various services offered by the garages in their area including details of pricing with the ability to view appointment availability and to make a booking.

We do not provide any advice in relation to the services compared on the site, nor do we provide any recommendations or endorsements.

TMO charge the garage a fixed or variable fee for Services booked via the site.

TMO are registered in England and Wales under company number 08339147 and have our registered office at Suite 216 1000 Lakeside, Western Road, Portsmouth, England, PO6 3EN.

By using our site you accept these terms

By using our site, you confirm that you accept these terms of service and that you agree to comply with them.

If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use our site.

These terms of service refer to the following additional terms, which also apply to your use of our site:

• Our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use and store your personal data.
• Our Cookie Policy, which sets out information about the cookies on our site.

We may make changes to these terms

We amend these terms from time to time. Every time you wish to use our site, please check these terms to ensure you understand the terms that apply at that time. These terms were most recently updated in October 2025.

We may make changes, suspend or withdraw our site

We may update and change our site from time to time.

Our site is made available free of charge.

We do not guarantee that our site, or any content on it, will always be available or be uninterrupted. We may suspend or withdraw or restrict the availability of all or any part of our site for business and operational reasons. We will try to give you reasonable notice of any suspension or withdrawal.

You are also responsible for ensuring that all persons who access our site through your internet connection are aware of these terms of service and other applicable terms of service, and that they comply with them.

We may transfer this Agreement to someone else

We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation.

We will always tell you in writing if this happens and we will ensure that the transfer will not affect your rights under the contract.

Our site is only for users in the UK

Our site is directed to people residing in the United Kingdom. We do not represent that content available on or through our site is appropriate for use or available in other locations.

You must keep your account details safe

If you choose, or you are provided with, a user identification code, password or any other piece of information as part of our security procedures, you must treat such information as confidential. You must not disclose it to any third party.

We have the right to disable any user identification code or password, whether chosen by you or allocated by us, at any time, if in our reasonable opinion you have failed to comply with any of the provisions of these terms of service.

If you know or suspect that anyone other than you know your user identification code or password, you must promptly notify us.

Your use of our search and booking facility

This clause will apply to your use of our site. The following definitions will apply:

• Booking means the process by which a User uses the site to search, obtain a price, compare and select a Garage and time for delivery of Services to be confirmed by the Garage over email/phone/text or other agreed means.
• Car means a road vehicle taxed as a private light goods vehicle and not used commercially that has four wheels and is designed to carry passengers.
• Garage means an automotive repairer.
• Services means (but not is limited to) any automotive service delivery, MOT, maintenance, parts, accessories or repair.
• User is a person, who can also be defined as 'You', who has visited and/or used the site who seeks and/or makes a Booking for Services from a Garage. A Garage may not be a User.

How to make a Booking

1. To make a Booking, TMO and/or the applicable Garage will communicate with you via email, text and phone, details of which have been provided by you, from TMO and the Garage.
2. When you make a Booking or enquiry over the site, the Garage will be sent your booking and contact details, and you will be sent their details via the email address you have provided. Please make sure we are on your safe senders list and not filtered to your junk mail.
3. The Garage will contact you and confirm all booking requirements. The Booking is NOT confirmed until you and the Garage have agreed this between yourselves.
4. The contract for any Services offered over the site or with the Garage during repairs is solely between you and the Garage. You will pay the Garage directly for all works undertaken in the normal way under their terms and conditions of business.
5. If you need to cancel or revise the date of your Booking, please contact the Garage directly. It is really important that you notify the Garage as they will be expecting you and have allocated a person to work on your Car.
6. A Booking on the site is not a contract for the Garage to provide any Services.
7. Prices displayed on the site are based on the information you have provided. You must agree the price for any additional work with the Garage on confirming the Booking.
8. You agree that an MOT test may be conducted by any certified MOT centre the Garage may choose.

No endorsement

1. We do not in any way endorse or confirm that the Garage will be able to fulfil your requirements, and it will be your sole responsibility to engage with the Garage to establish whether they can meet your requirements prior to you entering into contract with the Garage for the applicable work.
2. We take steps to verify the legal status of the Garages on our site however we cannot guarantee the status of the Garage.
3. If there are any issues with the performance of the Services with the Garage you may have legal rights of redress against the Garage directly but not against TMO.
4. TMO is not directly involved (whether as agent or principal) in any transactions between you and a Garage.
5. TMO does not guarantee that you will be able to make a Booking.
6. TMO cannot and will not make enquiries as to the nature, suitability, or quality of any Services provided by any Garage nor the accuracy of any description of Service, price, feedback, technical ability or the ability of a Garage to complete any transaction.

Your obligations

1. You are responsible for ensuring that all the information is provided in order for the site to provide an indication of the price and the available Garage or Garages available to deliver Services for your Car in your chosen area.
2. You confirm that all information provided by you via the site is true and accurate and that no information given or omissions made by you are intended or likely to mislead or deceive any person or organisation. TMO reserves the right at its discretion to request verification of, or verify on your behalf, any information provided by you.
3. TMO may terminate your use of the site and/or cancel any Bookings without notice or reason as a result of the following:
   • the information provided by you is incomplete, invalid, untruthful or incorrect;
   • you use the site to send spam or undertake any suspicious activity;
   • you provide false information about your identity;
   • you take any actions that may undermine the integrity of our review system;
   • you are abusive towards any member of the garage personnel or of ourselves;
   • you undermine the integrity of the site itself; or
   • you do not agree to receive communications from TMO and/or the Garage in relation to any Booking.
4. You acknowledge that any communications (and its content) to you by a Garage is the responsibility of the Garage and is not a recommendation or an endorsement by TMO or its directors or employees or any related party. The Garage is solely responsible for the accuracy and suitability of the communication and any offer. You may contact the Garage for any additional information regarding any communications received from a Garage.
5. You must contact the Garage to deal with any complaints or enquiries in relation to any communications sent by it to you.
6. It is your responsibility to arrange any transportation, pick up or delivery (possibly including any costs) to and from the Garage unless otherwise agreed between the Garage and you as part of their contract.

Reviews

• If you wish to submit a review to us using our review system on the site, you agree that TMO may publish your review, together with your name, on this and other websites and on any successor website that TMO may operate from time to time, on such page and in such position as TMO may determine in our sole discretion.
• Reviews are designed for our customers to let others know about their experience and share that with the website community. They help our customers learn more about the service of a Garage and whether it is right for them.
• You agree that TMO may edit the review and publish edited or partial versions of the review. However, we will never edit a review in such a way as to create a misleading impression of your views. TMO reserve the right to edit or take down words and/or statements that could cause reputation damage.
• We do not validate any reviews or ratings of the Garage. Any opinions expressed are those only of the individual submitting the review or review ratings provided by third parties.
• If any of the conditions below, or any other issues determined by TMO in its sole discretion, are not met then we may remove reviews, limit the ability for you to create new reviews and/or remove content or Garages from the service.
• Reviews can only be left by users over the age of 18.
• Customer reviews should give genuine feedback from customers who have used the Garage and must be from recent bookings, typically occurring in the last 12 months.
• We use reporting and analytics processes to identify fake reviews. Fake reviews will be removed promptly from the site where identified and confirmed. Reviews flagged as suspicious or potentially fake will be supressed pending investigation. If you spot a review that you think is fake, you can report it by emailing info@bookmygarage.com with details of the review.
• We will publish both positive and negative reviews once the transactions and any additional work is fully complete, but we always give the Garage a chance to put serious complaints right and allow 10 working days for them to contact you or us before the review is posted. This is designed to help them fix any problems you might have. Please enter into dialogue with them to reach a resolution. As part of the process the Garage and/or TMO will be given the opportunity to submit a reply.
• Content submitted in the review should be written in English, factually accurate, and contain no personal details that might invade someone's privacy. Content must also not contain spam, nonsense, symbols or images. You should only post your own content and content you have permission to use. It is not allowed to post content that in any way infringes on anyone's intellectual property for example Trademarks.
• We do not tolerate discrimination of any sort, the promotion or description of political/religious/social views or issues and implied or explicit threats.
• We reserve the right to remove reviews if we are made aware of any unwarranted verbal, physical, or potentially illegal activity.
• We do not allow content that's main purpose is to promote a company, website, special offer or other service.
• We don't allow Garages or any person with a direct or indirect financial interest in the Garage to create, edit, or post content about their own products, services or garages within reviews.
• We don't allow reviews in exchange for monetary reward, credit or in exchange for any services or gifts.
• We don't allow reviews by Garages on another Garage's service, either positive or negative.

How you may use material on our site

We are the owner or the licensee of all intellectual property rights in our site, and in the material published on it. Those works are protected by copyright laws and treaties around the world. All such rights are reserved.

You may print off one copy, and may download extracts, of any page(s) from our site for your personal use and you may draw the attention of others within your organisation to content posted on our site.

You must not modify the paper or digital copies of any materials you have printed off or downloaded in any way, and you must not use any illustrations, photographs, video or audio sequences or any graphics separately from any accompanying text.

Our status (and that of any identified contributors) as the authors of content on our site must always be acknowledged (except where the content is user-generated).

You must not use any part of the content on our site for commercial purposes without obtaining a licence to do so from us or our licensors.

If you print off, copy, download, share or repost any part of our site in breach of these terms of service, your right to use our site will cease immediately and you must, at our option, return or destroy any copies of the materials you have made (except that you are permitted to print off a copy of these terms of service).

Our trade marks are registered

"Book My Garage" is a UK registered trade mark of TMO. You are not permitted to use them without our approval.

Do not rely on information on this site

The content on our site is provided for general information only. It is not intended to amount to advice on which you should rely. You must obtain professional or specialist advice before taking, or refraining from, any action on the basis of the content on our site.

Although we make reasonable efforts to update the information on our site, we make no representations, warranties or guarantees, whether express or implied, that the content on our site is accurate, complete or up to date.

We are not responsible for websites we link to

Where our site contains links to other sites and resources provided by third parties, including any Garage, these links are provided for your information only. Such links should not be interpreted as approval by us of those linked websites or information you may obtain from them.

We have no control over the contents of those sites or resources.

We are not responsible for viruses

We do not guarantee that our site will be secure or free from bugs or viruses.

You are responsible for configuring your information technology, computer programs and platform to access our site. You should use your own virus protection software.

Our responsibility for loss or damage suffered by you

Whether you are a consumer or a business user:

• We do not exclude or limit in any way our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence or the negligence of our employees, agents or subcontractors and for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
• We shall have no liability to you whatsoever in respect of the provision of the Services between you and your chosen Garage and you agree that we do not supervise, direct, control or monitor the Garage in the performance of their contractual obligations. It is the Garage who is responsible for providing their Services to you.
• In recognition of the fact that we are not a party to any contract between you and any Garage, you hereby release us from any claims, demands and damages of every kind arising out of or in any way connected with any dispute you have with a Garage. This includes for example, without limitation any disputes regarding performance, functions, and quality of services provided and requests for refunds based upon disputes. This release will not apply to a claim where we have failed to meet our obligations under these terms.
• You acknowledge that the use of the internet can be unstable and, sometimes, insecure. At times the site may not be available, or Bookings may not be processed or may not be accepted. In these circumstances TMO accepts no responsibility.

If you are a business user:

• We only provide our site for domestic and private use. If you do use our site as a business, then the exclusions in this clause shall apply to the fullest extent.
• You acknowledge and agree that you are solely responsible for evaluating and determining the suitability of any Garage or assessing whether to enter into a contract with the Garage for the applicable Services and for verifying any information provided by the Garage.
• We exclude all implied conditions, warranties, representations or other terms that may apply to our site, any content on it.
• We will not be liable to you for any loss or damage, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, even if foreseeable, arising under or in connection with:
  • use of, or inability to use, our site;
  • use of or reliance on any content displayed on our site;
  • use of the site to search for a Garage; or
  • any Services provided by a Garage.
• In particular, we will not be liable for:
  • loss of profits, sales, business, or revenue;
  • business interruption;
  • loss of anticipated savings;
  • loss of business opportunity, goodwill or reputation; or
  • any indirect or consequential loss or damage.

If you are a consumer user:

• You acknowledge and agree that you are solely responsible for evaluating and determining the suitability of any Garage for assessing whether to enter into a contract with the Garage for the applicable Services and for verifying any information provided by the Garage.
• We only provide our site for domestic and private use. You agree not to use our site for any commercial or business purposes, and we have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.

How we may use your personal information

We will only use your personal information as set out in our Privacy Policy.

Which country's laws apply to any disputes?

• If you are a consumer, please note that these terms of service, their subject matter and their formation, are governed by English law. We both agree that the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a resident of Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in Northern Ireland, and if you are a resident of Scotland, you may also bring proceedings in Scotland.
• If you are a business, these terms of service, their subject matter and their formation (and any non-contractual disputes or claims) are governed by English law. We both agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
