Visionaries Behind BookMyGarage
BookMyGarage was founded by husband-and-wife team Douglas and Karen Rotberg, combining over four decades of experience in automotive retail, digital innovation, and consumer technology. Their shared mission: to bring transparency and simplicity to the UK’s fragmented garage market.
From Workshop Floor to Tech Platform
Douglas began his career as an apprentice mechanic, working hands-on with vehicles and learning the trade from the ground up. His passion for cars and customer service led him to run the world’s largest Rolls-Royce and Bentley dealership, before launching his own independent garage.

Serial Entrepreneurs with a Digital Edge
In the late 1990s, Douglas and Karen saw the internet’s potential to transform traditional industries. Together, they founded Carsite, one of the UK’s first online car sales platforms, later acquired by Tesco. Karen also co-founded Jobsite, a pioneering recruitment platform that reshaped how people find work online.
