The BookMyGarage blog is a space dedicated to providing readers with helpful advice, in-depth guides, and the latest news relating to the automotive industry.

We cover everything from car maintenance tips to driving advice on our blog.

Our overarching goal is to empower our readers to make informed choices, providing valuable knowledge and handy tips to help them save money on their car along the way.

Types of BookMyGarage Blog Content

The overall aim of each blog we write is to inform, educate, and entertain our readers.

We cover both timely and timeless blog topics here at BookMyGarage.

Bear in mind that potential readers of your blog may be completely new to car maintenance, so you should try and meet them at their level of understanding.

There are 3 main types of blogs guest contributors love writing for us:

  • Problem Blogs, explaining the car problem the reader is experiencing and providing them with a solution.
  • Maintenance Blogs, helping readers understand what they need to do to keep their car in top condition.
  • Driving Blogs, answering common questions readers have such as ‘What should you do when you break down on the motorway?’ and ‘What should I do if I feel anxious while driving?’

We are particularly interested in blogs relating to the following topics that fit into the categories above:

  • Car Servicing
  • MOTs
  • Fuel
  • Windscreens
  • Air Conditioning
  • Clutches
  • Batteries
  • Oil & Fluids

Submitting a Blog to Us

Please read our Content Guidelines carefully before submitting an article.

We ask that you don’t send us any full blogs until you’ve pitched your idea (as we’d hate for you to spend time working on something that doesn’t fit our audience...)

If you have demonstratable experience in the automotive industry, then we want to hear from you.

Ideally, you will be an established and credible blogger, too – but we will consider first-time bloggers if the piece is well-written and thoroughly researched.

Don’t worry if you’ve never written a published blog before. We can help you get your work into the best possible shape.

We want the article to be a piece of content we’re both proud of, so please don’t be put off if we suggest changes or edits to your finished blog.

We reserve the right to retain editorial control throughout the blog’s lifespan, but we won’t publish your blog until we know that you’re happy with it.

Please pitch your ideas to: marketing@bookmygarage.com.

We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Can I Submit More Than Once?

Yes! We would love to hear from you again.

We request that you submit one blog at a time, however, so that we can give each piece of content the attention it deserves.

We also ask that you pitch every new idea to us before writing the article, so that you don’t spend time writing content we can’t use.

Can I Include Backlinks to My Own Site?

We are happy to include backlinks to your site, where relevant (both to our audience and within the context of the article).

As with any external link, we will evaluate this for relevancy and quality before agreeing to link to your site and may decide to remove it if it does not meet our requirements.

Will You Edit My Work Following My Submission?

If your content is chosen for our blog, then we will read it carefully.

We reserve the right to edit all content which is submitted for publication – including the grammar, formatting, length and headings of the piece.

We may also remove links if we feel they aren’t relevant and may add some if we think they are - particularly internal links to other pieces of BookMyGarage content.

Can I Post About My Blog on My Own Social Media Accounts?

Of course! You are more than welcome to promote your published blog on social media following publication.

We would love it if you included a link back to the original article on our site if you are planning on reposting the blog on your own website or blog.

Can I Include Images in My Blog?

Yes, we highly encourage the use of images to help break up text within your content.

You can either provide us with the images yourself or let us know which images you’d like to include and where you want them in the blog.

Please know that we will only accept images which are submitted along with the article if you can prove that you hold the copyright to them and/or are allowed to use them under UK copyright law.

You must provide either explicit written permission from the owner or proof that you have sourced them from a reputable stock image site e.g. Unsplash, Bigstock or Shutterstock.

If we can’t verify this, then we will source an appropriate alternative through one of these sites for you - if possible.

What Happens After I Submit a Blog?

When you submit a blog to us, we will read it thoroughly and make any necessary edits. We may send the blog back to you if we think that more work is required to get it to the publishing stage.

We will send you the link to your blog once it is live so that you can feel proud and post about it on your social media If you so wish.

We aim to get back in touch within 1 to 2 weeks with a final version for your approval.
