BookMyGarage was initially conceptualized in 2013 in Portsmouth, United Kingdom by husband and wife: Douglas and Karen Rotberg. The idea came from customers of a previous company, Carsite, who would ask: “you’ve given me a great discount on a great car, but where do you recommend that I get it serviced?”

  BookMyGarage Surpasses 5 Million

  More than 5 million drivers have now compared prices to book servicing, MOTs and repairs on BookMyGarage.

• March 2021

  Pendragon, Evans Halshaw and Stratstone Joined SecretService

  SecretService expands with more UK coverage, through partnering with Pendragon, Evans Halshaw and Stratstone.

  Launch of Whatcar Partnerships and Lookers Joined SecretService

  Entered into partnership with WhatCar, who agreed to sponsor SecretService for Franchise partners. We also launched SecretService with Lookers.

  Launch of JustPark Partnership

  Entered into partnership with JustPark.

• May 2020

  Launched Free Vehicle Safety Checks for All Key Workers

  In response to the 6-month MOT extensions, we successfully rolled out an initiative to help key workers ensure their cars were safe and road worthy. We worked with thousands of local garages to ensure free safety checks were offered to all key workers. Through coverage on major UK publications and live chats on the radio, we were able to broadcast to millions of key workers and their families.

  Vertu Joined SecretService

  Vertu Motors enrolled their whole group in the SecretService programme, achieving over 400% ROI by the end of 2020.

  Medium Business of the Year - Winner

  BookMyGarage was awarded with the Portsmouth Medium Size Business Excellence award.

• July 2018

  1,000,000 People

  A big milestone for BookMyGarage with reaching 1,000,000 drivers who obtained instant prices to book servicing, MOTs and repairs with UK garages.

• March 2018

  Launch of SecretService

  Taking inspiration from last minute deals and secret hotel providers, we fully launched SecretService to provide motorists with a franchise experience but at an independent garage price. We trademarked SecretServiceTM.

  Ranked 35th Fastest Growing Company

  BookMyGarage ranked 35th in SyndicateRoom’s list, Top 100: Britain’s fastest-growing businesses.

• September 2017

  Trial of Secret Service

  The initial trial of Secret Service with a large Volkswagen dealership. Trial results indicated successful thus leading us to introduce to more franchise dealerships.

• March 2016

  Launch of View My Auto

  An affordable app based solution to allow garages to send the vehicle owner a short video highlighting the issue with the car.

• April 2015

  Relaunch as BookMyGarage

  We soon re-launched the company and re-branded as BookMyGarage.com with 5,800 garages listed. Our aim was to provide essential B2B services for those garages who wanted to become more digital for their own clients.

• December 2014

  Partnership with RAC

  We soon traded in the playful TootCompare name to leverage a well-known one, becoming RAC Garage Compare with 3,000 garages listed.

• 2014

  Launch of Tootcompare

  The beginning of a company that helped consumers decide which service their car needed, at what price, and at which garage. We launched Tootcompare with only 1,500 garages.

• 2013

  Birth of The Motorists Organisation

  The initial design and market testing of service schedules created for garages to use with their customers. This was also the beginning of development for the back-office system.
