"Happy with service"
"Always happy with the quality and service which is why I don't go anywhere else."
"I have been using Exeter St Garage for about 4 years now and they always treat me well and they have taken care of my vehicles as well as anyone could hope. They're polite and keep me apprised of any unexpected costs before embarking on the work. I recommend Exeter Street Garage without hesitation."
"Superb door to door service! Couldn’t be happier"
"excellent service and good advice on vehicle"
"Honest, friendly and excellent value"
"Arrived 30 minutes later Mot completed, great service"
"Work wasn’t able to be done, would have preferred to be contacted and told this instead of arriving back after an hour to be told the work wasn’t done. Understood that the garage was busy so this was probably why I wasn’t contacted. Not charged which was a fair service."
Any rotating object has to be balanced in order to reduce vibration and optimise its performance. We're all familiar with the vibration caused by an unevenly loaded washing machine drum; that's what your car tyres have to endure if the wheels have not been properly balanced. As a tyre wears, its balance may change slightly. And when you have new car tyres fitted, you will definitely need to have your wheels balanced.
If your car has a wheel that is out of balance, you will probably notice it most at speed. Often you will find there is a particular speed where this is most noticeable, and you’ll feel it through your steering wheel.
Your garage will usually take the wheel off the car to check its balance. They put the wheel in a machine that spins the it, and measures the vibration. The mechanic adds small weights to the rim of the wheel - the balancing machine tells him where to attach them - and the mechanic repeats the test until the wheel is satisfactorily balanced.
What do you need from your garage?
We all have different needs, and choosing a garage is no different. For some of us, it’s the quality of the overall service which matters most; not just the work that’s done under the bonnet, but the human interaction that comes with it. BookMyGarage allows you to compare Plymouth garages on everything from their waiting room refreshments or whether having your toddler in tow is going to be a problem, to how clearly the staff can explain the work your car requires.
