"Always happy with service and the banter"
Top End Pricing
"Having been hit with a large bill to get my car through its MOT I feel that the price I paid for parts and labour was at the top end of what you should be paying. While the work is ok and they did tell me the cost up front it still feels like I've been overcharged when the car was already in and being worked on. I won't be going back again or recommending the garage."
"Booked an mot online with preston garage was texted a time for drop off, dropped the car off and was called an hour or 2 later informing me of work needed and price, gave the go ahead and picked the car up later that day, super quick service, professional garage and competitively priced il be coming for certain."
"Service done very quickly and great customer service when picking up car"
A Sunny Saturday in May
"Great service and friendly staff as always."
"Cannot fault the service from the staff and the value for money"
"Happy with all aspects of work and being kept up to date just waiting for reactivation of Life time warranty"
"We used the garage for service and MOT as they had previously done work on a motorhome we had on behalf of another garage and been very efficient. We normally have mot done at the Council depot ad they don’t have a vested interest in getting work however we were impressed that the bill was cheaper than the online quote. The only issue was the online booking we did not work that well as when I arrived the guy said it was only booked in for a mot. However all the work was completed at a cheaper rate than the online quote so can’t complain."
Amazing Customer Care!
"Amazing, friendly and very helpful! Would definitely use again. Dropped the car off and got a lift home, they even dropped the car back off to me once completed.....so helpful! Thankyou so much."
"Very satisfied with everything, they even reduce the noise of the engine without telling them. I will be back for my other car too!"
"Very happy and will return"
Friendly local garage.
"Having moved to the area recently, this was the first time I needed any work on the car, so I used Book My Garage to find somewhere local for my MOT. The work was done at the appointed time and for the expected price and I got the impression that they were well equipped for the job. I will certainly be considering using this garage when my next service is due, instead of a main dealer."
Wheels and tyres, as with any rotating object, need to be balanced in order to reduce vibration. A good example of this is when laundry is loaded into a washing machine unevenly, the drum is not correctly balanced, so vibrates. Similarly, wheel balancing ensures that the weight of the wheel and tyre is even around the axle.
You should always have your wheels balanced whenever you have new tyres fitted. Car tyres which are fitted on wheels that have not been properly balanced will wear very quickly and unevenly. This is due to the inconsistent points of friction between the tyre and the road, creating an effect like rubbing sandpaper on the tyre aggressively. Losing grip this way could be very dangerous and the vibration also makes the car’s ride very uncomfortable, possibly to a point of distraction that might lead to an accident.
Wheels are typically removed from a car before their balance is checked. They are placed in a specially-designed machine and spun to measure the vibration. Small offsetting weights are placed at points on the rim of the wheel based on results from the balancing machine. This is repeated until the machine reports that the wheel is balanced.
