"From the moment I arrived, the staff were chatty and friendly. Emma on reception, was very informative and Joszef the mechanic also cane to the desk to talk through a few recommendations following his review of the car. No pressure to book work, just honest findings. The full service was also £50 cheaper than other garages"

Good, fast and efficient
"Very happy with the customer service, the work done and the communication throughout. One of the first garages not to have taken advantage of a single, young female entering the garage. 10/10, would return."
First class service
"Quality service as always and work carried out to a good standard at a competitive price."
"Very happy with service"
"Quick service and friendly staff. Good prices too."
"Been going to Darren for years and always had a Great service. Fitted in quickly as I forgot my MOT was due. Everything it failed on was fixed the same day and car handed back. Issue with retest not being done for pick up but was kept fully informed and made so comfortable that it wasn’t even an issue for me. Would never got anywhere else even for a puncture repair. Only garage I feel comfortable going to on my own as I know I won’t be ripped off and will be looked after."
Wheels and tyres, as with any rotating object, need to be balanced in order to reduce vibration. A good example of this is when laundry is loaded into a washing machine unevenly, the drum is not correctly balanced, so vibrates. Similarly, wheel balancing ensures that the weight of the wheel and tyre is even around the axle.
You should always have your wheels balanced whenever you have new tyres fitted. Car tyres which are fitted on wheels that have not been properly balanced will wear very quickly and unevenly. This is due to the inconsistent points of friction between the tyre and the road, creating an effect like rubbing sandpaper on the tyre aggressively. Losing grip this way could be very dangerous and the vibration also makes the car’s ride very uncomfortable, possibly to a point of distraction that might lead to an accident.
Wheels are typically removed from a car before their balance is checked. They are placed in a specially-designed machine and spun to measure the vibration. Small offsetting weights are placed at points on the rim of the wheel based on results from the balancing machine. This is repeated until the machine reports that the wheel is balanced.
Driving in Scotland
Motorists in Scotland come up against a range of challenges. The tourism and festival hub of Edinburgh experiences the extremes of urban congestion; but drive out into the Highlands and you may find yourself squaring up against one of the herds of long-horned Highland cattle that roam freely in some areas. BookMyGarage can compare garages the length and breadth of Scotland, whether you’re negotiating Glasgow City Centre or gazing at the expanse of Loch Ness.
