"I arranged a full history on the 'book my garage and I selected Reids because they offered a pick up and delivery of car. There was a small mix up and the garage did not realise it was to be picked up. A quick phone call to the garage though soon sorted it out and they came to pick up car very quickly. Very nice friendly people. They kept me informed throughout the service and called to tell me when they were finished.. Car runs so much better now.. will be definitely be going back."

Any rotating object has to be balanced in order to reduce vibration and optimise its performance. We're all familiar with the vibration caused by an unevenly loaded washing machine drum; that's what your car tyres have to endure if the wheels have not been properly balanced. As a tyre wears, its balance may change slightly. And when you have new car tyres fitted, you will definitely need to have your wheels balanced.
If your car has a wheel that is out of balance, you will probably notice it most at speed. Often you will find there is a particular speed where this is most noticeable, and you’ll feel it through your steering wheel.
Your garage will usually take the wheel off the car to check its balance. They put the wheel in a machine that spins the it, and measures the vibration. The mechanic adds small weights to the rim of the wheel - the balancing machine tells him where to attach them - and the mechanic repeats the test until the wheel is satisfactorily balanced.
Straight out of the Swedish city of Gothenberg, Volvo has become well-known for pushing out safe, reliable cars, making them one of the vehicles of choice for families around the globe. Initially made all the way back in 1924 to withstand the rigours of Sweden’s rough roads and cold temperatures, you could say they’ve come a long way!
The current Volvo range focusses mainly on traditional vehicle platforms, including hatchbacks, saloons, SUVs and estate cars. The ‘XC’ models cater to drivers who regularly get their cars a bit muddy and dirty off-road, while the ‘Cross Country’ versions are available for people going for a more traditional combination of on and off-road ability
