"Karl was brilliant to deal with and kept me informed all the way through"
"Fantastic service, from booking the mot online, to checking the car in efficiently. There is an area provided in reception to enable you to wait while the mot is being done. Friendly, knowledgable mechanics who carry out their work to a high standard. I wouldn’t take my merc elsewhere!"
"Booked my wife’s car in for service - she normally has pretty low expectations of Mercedes Benz dealers. However, she was very positive about her experience at MB Southampton and is happy to use them again. Staff were welcoming, helpful and professional = happy wife = happy me!"
"I have been to 3 garages none could help me and I lost nearly £600 but soon I got to David if found out my problem and less then 24hours my car was running again and the service was cheap comparing to the others"
When you're driving on a bumpy surface, your car's shock absorbers help to stop the car moving about and vibrating too much.
They are installed on your car's suspension and most cars have a shock absorber for each wheel. Although they don't support the weight of your vehicle, they control the suspension over rough surfaces, keeping the tyres in full contact with the road at all times.
They also absorb the impact of up and down movements for the rear suspension (not many cars have a rear axle) and front suspension components.
A piston inside the shock absorber moves up and down along with the suspension and springs to absorb the energy from the road. Hydraulic fluid or air chambers in the shock absorbers absorb excess energy.
Another German car manufacturer, the brand is best known for luxury automobiles (alongside buses, coaches, and trucks), although altogether Mercedes Benz is one of the most recognised automotive brands in the world. With the slogan “The best or Nothing”, you know they are dedicated to creating the best vehicles out there.
Mercedes has long been synonymous with a certain class of premium vehicle. Today they offer a wide range of cars covering the gamut of offerings, from compact to ultra-luxurious, with something for everyone. They’re also known for their sports cars, providing a perfect mix of comfort and performance - even if they aren’t the fastest in the game.
At the bigger end of things, you have the full range of Mercedes SUVs known as ‘GL’. But it’s not all fun and games, and you can find something much more practical in their large spectrum of hatchbacks, saloons, coupes, family cars, and the van-sized V-Class.
