“Excellent communication, really friendly and helpful. Reasonable pricing. Overall very good experience. Would gladly recommend to anyone in Aberdeenshire.”
“I'd massively recommend. My van injector went and every other garage said it was a very complicated job they wouldnt touch or i'd need to get it to a garage and have about 1 week plus wait. I reply on my van massively so needed it asap. Mannies motors ordered the part the same day i messaged and fixed it the following day at a very reasonable price. Customer service was great they explained everything to me and got it fixed perfectly. I'd highly recommend and will definately be back.”
“Decent lads came out at short notice to torque up all my bolts after i'd put lowering springs on and put on a new set of anti roll bar links at the same time. Decent price and stayed the same as what i was told at the beginning.”
A car radiator disperses heat away from the main engine block. A car engine works by burning fuel (whether petrol or diesel), and this generates a considerable amount of heat. In addition, a car engine has many moving parts; this movement creates friction, which in turn adds to the heat.
Because a car engine must remain not too hot in order to avoid overheating and seizure, when it reaches a certain temperature the thermostat opens to allow the flow of coolant and water around the engine and back to the radiator, where it loses heat to the cooler surrounding air. The front grill of the car allows outside air to blow over the radiator. If the radiator gets too hot, for example on a very hot day, or when the car is stationary, a fan behind the radiator starts, helping to blow air over it.
The most common reason for needing a car radiator repair is a leak. There are many seals, gaskets and hoses in the cooling system that can deteriorate or get a hole in them. Furthermore, every radiator needs to be properly maintained and the coolant must be kept topped up. Your garage should provide coolant changes at the same time as your annual service.
It’s also a good idea to check your car’s coolant level regularly. If it seems to be dropping a lot, then you may have a leak in the cooling system.
What do you need from your garage?
This might sound like a question with an obvious answer: you need a garage that can service or repair your car quickly and at a good price. But think again and you may realise there are other factors that affect your choice of garage in Peterhead. If you need to bring your son or daughter with you when you take your car in, are there toys in the waiting room? If you’re dropping the car off between school and work, can you pick up a cup of coffee while you’re there? Might the garage even collect your car and drop it back at your house after the work is done? You can find answers to all these questions on BookMyGarage.
