"The guys were great and really friendly. Top notch job!"
Good service overall
"Good service overall. Needed their loan car for 4 days due to parts supply problems but no issues at all."
"Happy with the customer service and quality of how quickly it was done"
"Had MOT done, excellent service, easy to book online, will use again"
"I left the car at 0900 and went for a walk in the lovely town of Kirriemuir. By not long after 1000, Barrie called me to say the MOT was complete. The car was washed too. Thanks."
"Friendly helpful staff"
"Had an MOT carried out on a 2014 car and they call me up to say to pass its MOT its front brake pads need replacing and advisory that the front discs also need replacing , had to have front pads done as require the car for call outs due to job. Bit suspicious about the front discs needing to be replaced so will be getting a second opinion when get the chance. Also not sure if they replaced the oil with the correct one as stated by the manufacturer as when I watched them they took it from a big drum they had in the work shop."
"Overall I was happy with the service we were provided. However there was a customer poster on the wall that stated that they will return your car freshly washed after a service and our car was not cleaned when I came to collect it. This would have been a really nice if this had been done. Also I was told that we would need new tires and that someone would call on Monday with a quote for us and I have yet to hear any thing back. Those few things would have really improved the experience. I did appreciate the courtesy car for the morning and think this is a great option to have available. The website is also very easy to use for bookings."
"Very friendly and efficient"
Was good helpful
"Very happy it passed in the end"
"All staff very helpful and attentive. Good value for money. Overall excellent service."
Well informed throughout.
"I booked online and was called and offered a choice of times that were available. The Lady was very polite and professional. I was informed about the advisories and the benefits of having the work done, but with no pressure whatsoever for them to do any work. Great service throughout!"
A car radiator disperses heat away from the main engine block. A car engine works by burning fuel (whether petrol or diesel), and this generates a considerable amount of heat. In addition, a car engine has many moving parts; this movement creates friction, which in turn adds to the heat.
Because a car engine must remain not too hot in order to avoid overheating and seizure, when it reaches a certain temperature the thermostat opens to allow the flow of coolant and water around the engine and back to the radiator, where it loses heat to the cooler surrounding air. The front grill of the car allows outside air to blow over the radiator. If the radiator gets too hot, for example on a very hot day, or when the car is stationary, a fan behind the radiator starts, helping to blow air over it.
The most common reason for needing a car radiator repair is a leak. There are many seals, gaskets and hoses in the cooling system that can deteriorate or get a hole in them. Furthermore, every radiator needs to be properly maintained and the coolant must be kept topped up. Your garage should provide coolant changes at the same time as your annual service.
It’s also a good idea to check your car’s coolant level regularly. If it seems to be dropping a lot, then you may have a leak in the cooling system.
Japanese firm Subaru’s heritage comes from the skies: the company developed out of the Nakajima Aircraft Company (1917-1945), which in its day was the largest aircraft manufacturer in Asia. In 1954 the company debuted its first automobile with the Subaru 500, Japan’s first mini, but Subaru’s story really started in 1972 with the launch of its symmetrical all wheel drive. It’s this factor above all which makes Subaru stand out from the crowd - 4x4 is standard on every car that Subaru sells in the UK (apart from the Justy city car).
Subaru currently sells seven models into the UK including the popular Outback, the original ‘crossover’ and a trusty and tough SUV. Other much loved models include the Forester, a slightly smaller SUV ideally suited to rural driving, and the Impreza - a rally champion turned practical family car.
Subaru owners display impressive brand loyalty, and for good reason. These cars are known for their longevity - it’s not unusual to see Foresters and Outbacks on the used car sales boards with over 200,000 miles on the clock. Part of the reason for this is Subaru’s unique flat-lying ‘boxer’ engines, with pistons which punch horizontally, like a boxer, rather than up and down as in a traditional engine. This means less vibration and friction, and better lubrication, particularly on start-up. In some ways, Subaru build cars which are seemingly almost indestructible! For safety and reliability across the board they consistently score very highly indeed with drivers and independent reviewers.
What do you need from your garage?
This might sound like a question with an obvious answer: you need a garage that can service or repair your car quickly and at a good price. But think again and you may realise there are other factors that affect your choice of garage in Maesteg. If you need to bring your son or daughter with you when you take your car in, are there toys in the waiting room? If you’re dropping the car off between school and work, can you pick up a cup of coffee while you’re there? Might the garage even collect your car and drop it back at your house after the work is done? You can find answers to all these questions on BookMyGarage.
