"Needed an MOT after arriving into Dyce from offshore. Needed it done ASAP before driving home. The staff were very accommodating and fitted me in at a time to suit."
No record of booking.
"After booking over 3 weeks in advance, I phoned the day before to be sure I was going to the correct place & was advised 60 min work as I was having to wait, When I arrived they had no record of my booking & with a full schedule for the day, they did manage to squeeze me in but had to wait in the freezing cold for over double the expected time, would have been longer had I not expressed my need for the car back sooner rather than later."
"New customer. Pleased with the experience. But, it was minus 4 degrees outside and I had to walkabout for an hour in that cold.s I would have much preferred to have been offered one of the nice soft chairs in reception during that time. Good customer service is paramount. It's also cheap. But the experience was very positive and I would definitely recommend this particular garage to anyone. Go for it."
"Great price, no hassle, easy booking, answered all questions, kept up to date, all work was done quickly and an extra bonus - they didn't try to rip me off like some other garages!"
"Was very impressed with online service quote and check in system. Would recommend their efficiency and value for money."
"Very happy with the service from Pit Stop- reasonably priced, and kept me up to speed on how the work was proceeding. Will use again."
"very happy..will definately go back there next year. Reasonable price."
"Easy to arrange, just dropped car off in the morning. MOT failed but garage were able to get it fixed and passed the same day. Will definitely use again."
"Very pleased with service received."
A car radiator disperses heat away from the main engine block. A car engine works by burning fuel (whether petrol or diesel), and this generates a considerable amount of heat. In addition, a car engine has many moving parts; this movement creates friction, which in turn adds to the heat.
Because a car engine must remain not too hot in order to avoid overheating and seizure, when it reaches a certain temperature the thermostat opens to allow the flow of coolant and water around the engine and back to the radiator, where it loses heat to the cooler surrounding air. The front grill of the car allows outside air to blow over the radiator. If the radiator gets too hot, for example on a very hot day, or when the car is stationary, a fan behind the radiator starts, helping to blow air over it.
The most common reason for needing a car radiator repair is a leak. There are many seals, gaskets and hoses in the cooling system that can deteriorate or get a hole in them. Furthermore, every radiator needs to be properly maintained and the coolant must be kept topped up. Your garage should provide coolant changes at the same time as your annual service.
It’s also a good idea to check your car’s coolant level regularly. If it seems to be dropping a lot, then you may have a leak in the cooling system.
How to be a better driver
Whether you’re driving in Aberdeen or further afield, think about road user etiquette. Showing respect for other road users makes driving more pleasant for you and safer for everyone. For example, if you have to make a last minute change of lane, make your request to change clear to the driver who will need to let you in - and signal your thanks if they do. Be ready to abandon the change of lane if they won’t play ball - your safety (and that of other drivers and pedestrians) is more important than getting to your destination in the shortest time possible. When the position is reversed and a driver asks your permission to change lanes, allow them to as long as it is safe. If you get frustrated, avoid using your horn - it won’t improve matters and might make them considerably worse.
