A Faultless Experience !
"The staff were ready and waiting at 0815 and started work immediately. MOT requirements were undertaken swiftly and economically after checking with me by phone. In addition, when collecting the car the same morning I was given a printed list of preventative maintenance work that the garage recommended for my car but with NO pressure to do it with them. A faultless experience."
"fantastic service maybe not the cheapest but you get what you pay for"
Good Honest Garage
"Very happy with costs and standard of workmanship. Would use again and recommend."
"I had to get my car MOT'd. I booked the slot on-line and then got a text to confirm the booking. I got a text to tell me my car had passed and was ready to collect. Nice and easy."
Always a great service
"So convenient as I only live a few roads away, always a quick turn around and possibly my favourite part is for example if I specify what I would like done on my car IF there is any extra work found I will get a call to confirm whether I want it done or not."
No complaints whatsoever.
"Great price and service along with efficiency. Free car wash the icing on the cake. Will return."
overall very good
"excellent all round"
Always a great service
"I always use Paramount for my work as I live in Ingress Park and it’s so convenient to have a garage so local to me. Possibly my favourite part is if there is ANY additional work needed I always get a phone call to ask if I want it done. There is nothing worse than going to collect your vehicle then hit with an unexpected bill."
"Completed what was requested"
"Ali was very warm, welcoming and above all explained clearly what needed to be done and the impact of repairs I might need to do. This inspired me to trust him and automatically decide to switch garage and I never regretted it. I would recommend him to any of my friends."
"George was very polite and efficient given he was so busy"
Power Assisted Steering, or ‘PAS’ as it is also known, is a mechanism that helps you to steer your car. In most vehicles, the PAS relies on a hydraulic system to aid turning the vehicle's wheels. If you have ever driven a car with no Power Steering you will have most certainly noticed the difference between having PAS and not. Power Steering used to be a luxury in certain vehicles, but nowadays it is almost standard in every type of vehicle.
There are two types of power steering: rack-and-pinion and the recirculating ball. Rack-and-pinion is the most common system. Although not as widespread, the recirculating ball system is still in use, mainly on vans and trucks.
In both systems, two high-pressure hoses connect the steering rack to both sides of the centre seal. One hose directs high pressure hydraulic fluid from the power steering pump to the steering mechanism, while the other allows fluid to flow back to the pump. When the steering wheel is turned left or right, the steering mechanism allows the hydraulic fluid to pass to that side of the rack. That pressure assists the vehicle's steering power by pushing the seal and rack in one direction or the other.
