Your van failed its MOT due to a split CV boot, which is classed as a major defect under DVSA regulations. On the day of your test, one of our MOT bay doors became deadlocked, meaning all MOTs had to be carried out from a single bay. This doubled our workload and reduced capacity, and we didn’t know how long the delay would last. You weren’t contacted earlier as the MOT hadn’t yet been undertaken, so there was no update to give. Parking is limited on our busy working estate, but vehicles are safe during the day and moved closer overnight if repairs are approved. Same‑day repairs aren’t always possible, especially on Fridays when demand is highest and we’re not open at weekends. Booking a pre‑MOT check or avoiding Fridays may help provide more flexibility when your van is critical.
