"Had to wait a while but overall ok"
"Would recommend Speedy Spanners to anyone - their collect & deliver service takes the hard work out of having work done on your car."
"I booked my MOT on line for the next morning so called up to confirm what time. I should take my car in for. I arrived at the time given, I was shown the waiting room and my car was immediately taken in. While the waiting room was basic I had no complaints as I had brought along something to do while I waited. I wasn’t waiting hours, the mechanic said the MOT would take about 49 mins, and then I was on my way. Everything appeared to happen very smoothly."
Very good service
"I was late but they accommodated me with no fuss"
"Excellent service, extremely reasonable and professional"
"An overall great service."
"Everything was explained and advise given. Thank you!"
"Took my car in for it's MOT. They quickly let me know what was wrong and what was required to rectify the issues and all work was carried out the same day for an excellent price. I'll definitely take my car back should more work be required as I am happy with the service received."
"Very happy with the service at GT Autoz, my car was taken first thing and I had it back within and hour and a half. The whole transaction was professional and hassle free. I will definitely use GT Autoz again in the future!"
Electric Power Steering, or “EPS” as it is also known, is a mechanism that helps you to steer your car. In most vehicles, the EPS relies on a electric motor to aid in turning the wheels. If you've ever driven a car with no Power Steering at all you will have certainly noticed the difference it makes.
Unlike hydraulic systems, electric power steering (EPS) doesn't use any form of hydraulic pressure to provide steering assistance. The technology is fully electric, with an electric motor providing direct assistance to the wheels. Since there is no power lost generating and transmitting hydraulic power, these systems are typically more efficient than hydraulic power steering.
Depending on the specific EPS system, an electric motor is mounted either to the steering column or directly to the steering rack. Sensors are used to determine how much steering force is required when it is applied so that the driver only has to use a minimum amount of effort to turn the steering wheel. Some systems have discrete settings that vary the amount of steering assist that's provided, and others work on a variable curve.
A British icon since the swinging 1960s, the Mini is a small economy car that was made by the British Motor Corporation from 1959 until 2000 and is now under the umbrella of BMW. The transverse engine front-wheel drive layout influenced a generation of car makers, and allowed 80 percent of the car’s floorpan to be used for passengers and luggage - that’s a lot of space!
In 1999 the Mini was voted the second most influential car of the 20th century, behind the Ford Model T, and ahead of the Citroën DS and Volkswagen Beetle. The performance versions, the Mini Cooper and Cooper "S," were successful as rally cars, winning the Monte Carlo Rally in 1964, 1965 and 1967. The British manufacturer now offers a selection of nine cars across a broad spectrum of vehicle choices, from the traditional three door hatchback to the more radical Coupe, Countryman and Paceman. It also developed a range of frugal engines, both petrol and diesel, to reduce running costs.
