"Really helpful staff, do what is needed and don’t try to inflate bill with needless repairs - will be back as my garage of choice now"
Will recommend to friends
"Very happy with service. This is the second time, I have used Car Care Centre and they are efficient and trustworthy."
Quick and easy
Full service and mot
"The service was quick and I was kept informed on what I needed to do and what issues my car had."
Work needed doing
"I forgot to ask for an MOT but when I remembered they sorted it with a minimum of fuss. Reliable garage we have used before."
"Very reliable and changed shock absorbers for me, was very informative and didn't try to rip me off."
"Yes very happy"
"Seen quickly, kept up to date throughout and friendly service"
"Really great service (excuse the pun!), and price provided beforehand. Identified additional work needed before next mot. Car collected and delivered back with invoice left with me for payment. Only issue is lack of updates - car not picked up till about half hour after start of working day, and only delivered back at about 5:30pm - slightly earlier for both would have been more convenient, and just to be kept informed would've helped a lot."
Coolant is a specially-formulated chemical liquid, commonly known as antifreeze, that circulates through a car’s engine. It removes excess heat from a car’s engine by passing it through the car’s radiator. Furthermore, the solution contains inhibitors that protect the metal, plastic and rubber in the cooling system from corrosion. And, as the name antifreeze suggests, it also doesn’t freeze up in bitterly cold conditions, so it plays an important role in a car all year long.
Coolant levels should be checked frequently, at least every 3-6 months. Low coolant can cause overheating, which would have serious implications for other components on the car. Even though coolant can leak and evaporate over time, in many cars it often looks as though the coolant never needs changing because its level seems to stay the same. However, draining and flushing the coolant system, including the radiator, at least once a year is important. Flushing pushes out all the old coolant, debris from corrosion and scale. If left in the engine, it may become clogged up, potentially causing extensive damage.
Before a mechanic drains the cooling system, he might add coolant cleaner to the coolant and then start the engine, depending on what the manufacturer specifies. After the car has run for a while, he would turn it off and drain it. He would then add water to flush it and drain it again, twice, before finally putting in the fresh coolant.
A heritage German brand that has been a favourite for decades, it’s hard to throw a stone without hitting someone who owns or has owned a Golf at some point in their life! It’s essentially a rite of passage for anyone searching for a safe, reliable, and family-friendly car.
Interestingly, Volkswagen has three cars in the top 10 list of best-selling cars of all time - the Volkswagen Golf, the Beetle, and the Passat. Not bad, right?
Known for their reliability and value for money, VWs have long served as a reasonably priced little sibling to the more luxurious Audi, receiving excellent reviews across the board when it comes to the motoring press. You’d be hard pressed to find a range of cars as practical, safety-conscious, attractive and just generally good to drive as a Volkswagen.
What do you need from your garage?
This might sound like a question with an obvious answer: you need a garage that can service or repair your car quickly and at a good price. But think again and you may realise there are other factors that affect your choice of garage in Paisley. If you need to bring your son or daughter with you when you take your car in, are there toys in the waiting room? If you’re dropping the car off between school and work, can you pick up a cup of coffee while you’re there? Might the garage even collect your car and drop it back at your house after the work is done? You can find answers to all these questions on BookMyGarage.
