Good local garage
"I had decided to use local garages and in so doing support local firms compared to national firms. On this base, I cannot have any complaints about the work, the value for money and the way the garage kept me informed of the service and work being done on my car."
"The garage couldn't have been more helpful and it seemed ridiculous that my engine fault cleared itself once it was hooked up to the diagnostics machine which in itself does not fix problems, however it did and to be certain the mechanic kindly took my car out for a quick spin to ensure that my engine fault light didn't return and that the turbo which wasn't kicking in after the light had come on, was operating normally."
"Excellent communication from the garage and all work done in a swiftly manner."
"Excellent service - very pleased Thankyou"
"Excellent! Thank you!"
"Quick, efficient, helpful"
"The service was done on Christmas Eve and the staff were fully focused on the task in hand. Left very pleased with the speed and cost of the work done"
Coolant is a specially-formulated chemical liquid, commonly known as antifreeze, that circulates through a car’s engine. It removes excess heat from a car’s engine by passing it through the car’s radiator. Furthermore, the solution contains inhibitors that protect the metal, plastic and rubber in the cooling system from corrosion. And, as the name antifreeze suggests, it also doesn’t freeze up in bitterly cold conditions, so it plays an important role in a car all year long.
Coolant levels should be checked frequently, at least every 3-6 months. Low coolant can cause overheating, which would have serious implications for other components on the car. Even though coolant can leak and evaporate over time, in many cars it often looks as though the coolant never needs changing because its level seems to stay the same. However, draining and flushing the coolant system, including the radiator, at least once a year is important. Flushing pushes out all the old coolant, debris from corrosion and scale. If left in the engine, it may become clogged up, potentially causing extensive damage.
Before a mechanic drains the cooling system, he might add coolant cleaner to the coolant and then start the engine, depending on what the manufacturer specifies. After the car has run for a while, he would turn it off and drain it. He would then add water to flush it and drain it again, twice, before finally putting in the fresh coolant.
A French dealer renowned for the sporty qualities of its small cars, Peugeot is as popular now as it was nearly a hundred years ago. A part of PSA Peugeot Citroen, the family business that preceded the current company was founded back in 1810, although in those days they manufactured bicycles and coffee mills!
While still known for its small, sporty and economical models, Peugeot now make a wide variety of differently shaped and sized cars. You’ll also notice that Peugeot have defiantly skipped the long-standing trend of naming their cars, instead choosing to use numbers and letters (3008, 5008, and RCZ, for example).
Today the range includes three sporty vehicles - the 208 and 308 GTi, which are hatchbacks, and the RCZ coupe, among others. The range spans ultra compact cars to spacious SUVs, and family friendly vehicles to more flashier options, like the aforementioned RCZ.
