"Secret service shouldn't be a secret, everyone needs to book through this. So much cheaper and the same quality workmanship through a main dealer...amazing."
"Promote car servicing for all makes but been told to go to mini to get service light reset as unable to do it, that's disappointing."
"Initially my booking hadn’t gone through but the garage managed to fit me in!! Really great service and a great price too. Will definitely be using again"
"Helpful friendly staff and great service"
"We were happy with the service we received. "
great service and price
"Efficient service price was as quoted at time of booking through RAC, kept me informed detailed explanation of MOT. Will use Garage again and recommend to others. Wish they included a valet in the service would have made it complete but no complaints as to service."
"Helpfulness of manager Sean"
Great service as always!
"Great service from start to finish, a call to confirm the booking, confirmation of opening times and a call to say when the job was completed"
"Perfect as always, fair prices and good work, I'll definitely be returning when I next need something done, thanks!"
"I had a full service and MOT. They collected my car for me first thing then carried out the MOT and rang me to tell me the outcome then carried out the service and rang again when that was completed. They dropped my car back off again at tea time and even rang me when they was on their way. The price was very reasonable. I didnt need to have any work done so i cant really comment on quality of work. But i was really happy with the service i received. The collection and drop off of my car was a life saver because i would have been stranded waiting at the garage if not. The only tiny thing is they didnt reset my service reminder on my car so it still keeps saying my service is over due, but thats minor. Overall very happy"
"Easy to book and good communications from Patcham Garage. Kept me in the loop about the status of the MOT. Ordered a new tyre for the one that needed replacing and fitted it. Let me know when I could collect. Very good service."
"Top notch service ,kept in touch on requirements"
Coolant is a specially-formulated chemical liquid, commonly known as antifreeze, that circulates through a car’s engine. It removes excess heat from a car’s engine by passing it through the car’s radiator. Furthermore, the solution contains inhibitors that protect the metal, plastic and rubber in the cooling system from corrosion. And, as the name antifreeze suggests, it also doesn’t freeze up in bitterly cold conditions, so it plays an important role in a car all year long.
Coolant levels should be checked frequently, at least every 3-6 months. Low coolant can cause overheating, which would have serious implications for other components on the car. Even though coolant can leak and evaporate over time, in many cars it often looks as though the coolant never needs changing because its level seems to stay the same. However, draining and flushing the coolant system, including the radiator, at least once a year is important. Flushing pushes out all the old coolant, debris from corrosion and scale. If left in the engine, it may become clogged up, potentially causing extensive damage.
Before a mechanic drains the cooling system, he might add coolant cleaner to the coolant and then start the engine, depending on what the manufacturer specifies. After the car has run for a while, he would turn it off and drain it. He would then add water to flush it and drain it again, twice, before finally putting in the fresh coolant.
How to be a better driver
Whether you’re driving in Crewe or further afield, think about road user etiquette. Showing respect for other road users makes driving more pleasant for you and safer for everyone. For example, if you have to make a last minute change of lane, make your request to change clear to the driver who will need to let you in - and signal your thanks if they do. Be ready to abandon the change of lane if they won’t play ball - your safety (and that of other drivers and pedestrians) is more important than getting to your destination in the shortest time possible. When the position is reversed and a driver asks your permission to change lanes, allow them to as long as it is safe. If you get frustrated, avoid using your horn - it won’t improve matters and might make them considerably worse.
