MOT carried out well.
"Work carried out @ time booked."
"As always prompt efficient honest and recommended"
"Reduced price MOT's, but they do not tell you they take the cars off-site to get them done, so not practical to wait for this to be completed as it cane be 3 hours plus before the car is ready for pick-up. MOT booking cancelled when I arrived and discovered this."
Friendly and Professional
"Always a bit weary of using a different garage but was totally impressed by the attitude and friendliness of the staff, even giving me a lift home so I could leave my car overnight. Work resolved and mot'd at a very reasonable rate."
"I went along to this RAC garage last year after a few unhappy experiences with other local garages. It will definitely be my "Go-to" garage from now on."
"Yes good service"
The clutch is perhaps the most important part of a car’s transmission system. It comprises two metal plates which are responsible for maintaining a connection between the engine and the gearbox. When the driver depresses the clutch pedal the plates come apart, separating the engine from the drive wheels, allowing you to change gear. Bringing the pedal back up re-engages the plates which in turn connect the engine to the drive wheels.
Excessive noise and vibration from the clutch area can be caused by a bad release bearing or pilot bearing. If this is the case in your car, the garage will take apart the clutch assembly in order to replace the bearings.
If the clutch is grabbing and shuddering as it’s engaged, the garage may need to take a look at the flywheel as well. Many modern vehicles are fitted with a dual mass flywheel; a rotating mechanical device which can break down. There’s no easy way for garages to check for this without disassembling the clutch and inspecting the pressure plate and flywheel. If the clutch pedal is giving little or no resistance, the problem could be a seal leak in the master or slave cylinder.
MG is an archetypally British car marque, still manufactured at the historic Longbridge car plant in Birmingham. The history of MG stretches back to its registration in 1924, and the company went on to produce a range of iconic two seater sports cars. The MG Owners Club claims to be the World's largest single marque car club, an indication of the passion MG owners have for their vehicles.
In terms of models, some of the best loved vintage cars still seen on British roads are from the MG stable. These include the distinctive MG Midget with its ‘frog eye’ headlights, clean lines and nimble handling, perfect for the UK’s twisty single carriageway country lanes. The Midget was manufactured between 1961 - 1979, and MG continues to evolve and produce good looking cars. The current range includes the MG3, a practical and fun supermini, and the MG6, a contemporary fastback.
It may not feature at the top of everyone’s UK city bucket list, but it probably should. From lace to DH Lawrence to the legend of Robin Hood, Nottingham’s heritage and social history are rich and fascinating. Add to that a burgeoning independent arts scene, a host of excellent museums and a trendy leisure culture, this exciting and handsome city will satisfy visitors of all ages.
