"Myself and my daughter were reassured to hear the brakes and tyres were all in good order and with a new fan belt fitted now feel confident the car is safe and roadworthy"
Small garage great people
"Good value for money, friendly service couldn’t have been easier with on line booking."
Got the job done!
"Staff were friendly, made sure I was aware they had moved premises. I will use them again."
Always good work
"I have used this garage since moving to the area 8 years ago and have had nothing but dood customer service, good work and reasonable prices."
GREAT SERVICE AS USUAL
"Always very happy with the service I recieve, the ladies on the desk are very helpful and really on the ball, the work is always great and I am very happy as usual"
Efficient MOT & Service
"Overall great service, would recommend. Only downside was I booked with free pick-up and drop-off, waited in Saturday morning for my car to be collected, only to be called at 9:30am and told that I needed to bring in my car to the garage as soon as possible so they could complete the work. Apparently this service is only available on weekdays – although I didn’t see this information anywhere while booking, a little misleading!"
"Regular customer to this garage. Very helpful . Feel that I get honest advice. Have already recommended my work colleague to go there."
"Happy with service but need to improve on time keeping"
Efficient service desk
"The pre service call and arrangements were excellent as I received two calls explaining how things would happen. The guys on the service desk were efficient, friendly and keen to meet my needs. I am not in a position to give an opinion on the quality of service work as everything worked before the work and everything works afterwards!"
"I was grateful that the Garage was able to help me at very short notice and really appreciated the collection and drop-off service. My engine definitely sounds better than before the service was done. My only issue was that I chose the major service specifically because it included servicing of the gearbox, including replacement of the fluid. I'm not sure that work was done, as there's no improvement in the gearbox."
"Very happy with the service"
The brakes on your car utilise fluid pressure.
When the brake pedal is depressed, it activates a plunger in the master cylinder,
which pressurises the brake fluid in the pipes and hoses causing the brake components to move.
Brake repairs are one of the most common reasons to visit a garage; all cars need their brake discs and pads replaced at regular intervals. Some of the warning signs for brake failure are squealing or grinding noises when depressing the brakes, or the brake feeling 'spongy' when the pedals is pressed. And of course if you need to brake increasingly hard to effectively slow or stop your car, then you could well be looking at brake replacement.
There are two main types of brake systems: disc brakes and drum brakes.
Disc brake systems are comprised of two pads per wheel, which clamp down on the brake disc when the brake pedal is depressed. When the fluid becomes pressurised, it sends a plunger in the calliper forward, forcing the brake pads on either side of the brake disc to squeeze it, which results in the slowing and stopping of the car.
Drum brakes operate in the same way as disc brakes, but with a different design. They both use friction to slow and stop the car, but drum brakes use shoes, instead of pads. The shoes are inside the steel brake drum itself, which spins with the wheel. When brake pressure is applied, a component called the wheel cylinder expands, forcing the brake shoes apart and towards the inside edge of the drum. Drum brakes are usually found on older vehicles, or just on the rear brake system.
The second largest US-based automaker, Ford is a brand known around the world, with a number of strong performing vehicles in its ranks. No surprise there, as the company has been making cars since 1903. As the most popular of the North American brands in the UK, the Ford Focus and the Fiesta are probably well known to almost every driver on the road.
Popular for those looking for subcompact or compact cars, Ford makes a variety of configurations across a spectrum of performance standards. The last of Ford’s British car manufacturing plants was shut down in 2002, but you’ll still find Ford dealerships across the country - with garages that know how to deal with them as a consequence.
How to be a better driver
Whether you’re driving in Tarporley or further afield, think about road user etiquette. Showing respect for other road users makes driving more pleasant for you and safer for everyone. For example, if you have to make a last minute change of lane, make your request to change clear to the driver who will need to let you in - and signal your thanks if they do. Be ready to abandon the change of lane if they won’t play ball - your safety (and that of other drivers and pedestrians) is more important than getting to your destination in the shortest time possible. When the position is reversed and a driver asks your permission to change lanes, allow them to as long as it is safe. If you get frustrated, avoid using your horn - it won’t improve matters and might make them considerably worse.
