did what was needed
"Great service efficient and well priced"
"I was very impressed from the moment my car was collected. I could tell.immediately upon driving my car that a great job was done. Very impressed."
MOT Carried out
"Another perfect service from Kilgannon garage, allways use this place now, handy location and good prices."
"Again, excellent service and communication. Helpful as always."
"Full Service done. The cost, Labour and workmanship have been excellent. However the garage can better manage its time as I was given a time appointment on the day of the service rather than some time before."
"I booked this online, but when I arrived at the garage, the booking had not come through. Despite that and having a full work diary for the day, they still fitted me in and were very helpful. I would recommend booking direct with the garage in future."
"Very happy, car feels like new again. Williams garage are happy to go the extra mile to check things and apply intelligence to what work needs doing."
Fast service, great help.
"Asked to be informed if my car's MOT failed before starting the service so I could see if I could afford the repair (if any) and the service. The gentleman that took my keys ensured this is what they always do. Got a call to say my car needed two new tyre's and failed the MOT for it. When asked about the service, it was already done..... Had to pay for two new tyre's on top of the service. Fair enough, it's not the garage's fault and they were fast enough to fit the tyres and ensure everything was okay afterwards. Ideally I would have left the service for a month or two till I could afford it though."
"Very happy with the work done. Staff were very friendly and helpful"
Great Service but...
"I had a full service done. I was emailed an appointment time on the day which which was inconvenient. Woman told me to bring it in for the appointment time and she would make sure I was seen to whilst I wait however no woman was seen at the desk (appears to be offsite call centre I believe). Dropped the car off and sat around for a while, guy told me to come back for closing time which was 4 hours away. The price of the service and the quality (so far) have been excellent however they need to better manage their appointment times and advise an exact time upon booking and also advise collection times so people know whether to wait around or plan a time filler. I will be back though due to prices and quality of the workmanship."
"You came highly recommended by a friend and did not disappoint. I was booked in for an MOT at 9am I had to make some changes to my day and the garage were very accommodating and was able to change my time very last minute to accommodate the changes. My car was finished within the hour and the mechanic was very informative talking through the advisories and making sure I understood the information. Definitely now my go to garage."
The brakes on your car utilise fluid pressure.
When the brake pedal is depressed, it activates a plunger in the master cylinder,
which pressurises the brake fluid in the pipes and hoses causing the brake components to move.
Brake repairs are one of the most common reasons to visit a garage; all cars need their brake discs and pads replaced at regular intervals. Some of the warning signs for brake failure are squealing or grinding noises when depressing the brakes, or the brake feeling 'spongy' when the pedals is pressed. And of course if you need to brake increasingly hard to effectively slow or stop your car, then you could well be looking at brake replacement.
There are two main types of brake systems: disc brakes and drum brakes.
Disc brake systems are comprised of two pads per wheel, which clamp down on the brake disc when the brake pedal is depressed. When the fluid becomes pressurised, it sends a plunger in the calliper forward, forcing the brake pads on either side of the brake disc to squeeze it, which results in the slowing and stopping of the car.
Drum brakes operate in the same way as disc brakes, but with a different design. They both use friction to slow and stop the car, but drum brakes use shoes, instead of pads. The shoes are inside the steel brake drum itself, which spins with the wheel. When brake pressure is applied, a component called the wheel cylinder expands, forcing the brake shoes apart and towards the inside edge of the drum. Drum brakes are usually found on older vehicles, or just on the rear brake system.
The second largest US-based automaker, Ford is a brand known around the world, with a number of strong performing vehicles in its ranks. No surprise there, as the company has been making cars since 1903. As the most popular of the North American brands in the UK, the Ford Focus and the Fiesta are probably well known to almost every driver on the road.
Popular for those looking for subcompact or compact cars, Ford makes a variety of configurations across a spectrum of performance standards. The last of Ford’s British car manufacturing plants was shut down in 2002, but you’ll still find Ford dealerships across the country - with garages that know how to deal with them as a consequence.
