Helpful after MOT fail
"Service good although I had to contact them to know when I could collect car. Issue resolved quickly. There was a charge on bill I was unfamiliar with and should have checked with them to understand. I would most definitely use them again."
"Very good customer service, car collected and returned . Very satisfied"
Great peace of mind
"My car needed a service and I was honestly dreading it. Luckily I found Acton Service Centre and they really put my mind at ease. I found them very honest and reliable. My car was serviced in a timely fashion and I was kept informed throughout. I was also given some recommendations about my car without ever being pushy about replacing parts."
"Friendly, quick service and even managed to fit me in last minute."

Best in the business
"Online booking of Interim Service was straight forward. Also asked for a courtesy car is Fergussons Sutton is a bit out of the way public transport wise for me. Although the courtesy car was returned late, Russel did do his best to ask the client to bring the car in as there is another client waiting. Service and MOT was done within a day, but I could not make it for their closing time and they had no hassle for me to collect the next morning. Unfortunately I am always weary about this trade as I have no foot to stand on when you take a car into a Service Centre and they tell you that there is things that needs to be replaced for it to pass MOT. You can only but take their word for it unless you have a lot of spare time and money for 2nd/3rd opinions. Anyway, no such issues with Furgesson. I have serviced my car there the last couple of years and wish I new about them earlier. Highly recommended."
The brakes on your car utilise fluid pressure.
When the brake pedal is depressed, it activates a plunger in the master cylinder,
which pressurises the brake fluid in the pipes and hoses causing the brake components to move.
Brake repairs are one of the most common reasons to visit a garage; all cars need their brake discs and pads replaced at regular intervals. Some of the warning signs for brake failure are squealing or grinding noises when depressing the brakes, or the brake feeling 'spongy' when the pedals is pressed. And of course if you need to brake increasingly hard to effectively slow or stop your car, then you could well be looking at brake replacement.
There are two main types of brake systems: disc brakes and drum brakes.
Disc brake systems are comprised of two pads per wheel, which clamp down on the brake disc when the brake pedal is depressed. When the fluid becomes pressurised, it sends a plunger in the calliper forward, forcing the brake pads on either side of the brake disc to squeeze it, which results in the slowing and stopping of the car.
Drum brakes operate in the same way as disc brakes, but with a different design. They both use friction to slow and stop the car, but drum brakes use shoes, instead of pads. The shoes are inside the steel brake drum itself, which spins with the wheel. When brake pressure is applied, a component called the wheel cylinder expands, forcing the brake shoes apart and towards the inside edge of the drum. Drum brakes are usually found on older vehicles, or just on the rear brake system.

Located in the Thames Valley to the west of London, Reading in Berkshire is not too well-known as one of Britain’s must-visit towns. However, once you get there, you’ll discover a surprising amount of things to see and do. It is sometimes described as being on London’s commuter belt but the influx of daily traffic outweighs the outflow due to the large number of tech companies and international businesses which have made Reading their home.
