"Great service, great communication. Great garage, full marks."
1st Rate Service
"Received a call straight away after making online booking and again on the day of the M.O.T to give details of any repairs required. All the servicing and alignment completed was carried out to a high standard. I was very happy with the very reasonable pricing for the required work and the extra tyres I requested. Have used the garage along with my family for many years and wouldn't go anywhere else"
Fab service overall
"I was very happy with the work and although it was expensive for me personally, it was well priced - I would have expected it to be higher. The only negative was the phone staff, although they were lovely themselves there seemed to be no communication going on, I spoke to 3 different members of staff and each said something different about when I should expect to have my car back. Overall, I’d recommend this garage for work but be aware of needing flexibility with times, and that the reception staff can seem a little short ."
"Car picked up and dropped off afterwards, car servicing made easy."

Tried to do same with other garage who makes the car only to no avail, charge for hire car, don’t pick up or drop off, wait time long and twice the price for same work"

The brakes on your car utilise fluid pressure.
When the brake pedal is depressed, it activates a plunger in the master cylinder,
which pressurises the brake fluid in the pipes and hoses causing the brake components to move.
Brake repairs are one of the most common reasons to visit a garage; all cars need their brake discs and pads replaced at regular intervals. Some of the warning signs for brake failure are squealing or grinding noises when depressing the brakes, or the brake feeling 'spongy' when the pedals is pressed. And of course if you need to brake increasingly hard to effectively slow or stop your car, then you could well be looking at brake replacement.
There are two main types of brake systems: disc brakes and drum brakes.
Disc brake systems are comprised of two pads per wheel, which clamp down on the brake disc when the brake pedal is depressed. When the fluid becomes pressurised, it sends a plunger in the calliper forward, forcing the brake pads on either side of the brake disc to squeeze it, which results in the slowing and stopping of the car.
Drum brakes operate in the same way as disc brakes, but with a different design. They both use friction to slow and stop the car, but drum brakes use shoes, instead of pads. The shoes are inside the steel brake drum itself, which spins with the wheel. When brake pressure is applied, a component called the wheel cylinder expands, forcing the brake shoes apart and towards the inside edge of the drum. Drum brakes are usually found on older vehicles, or just on the rear brake system.
What do you need from your garage?
This might sound like a question with an obvious answer: you need a garage that can service or repair your car quickly and at a good price. But think again and you may realise there are other factors that affect your choice of garage in Preston. If you need to bring your son or daughter with you when you take your car in, are there toys in the waiting room? If you’re dropping the car off between school and work, can you pick up a cup of coffee while you’re there? Might the garage even collect your car and drop it back at your house after the work is done? You can find answers to all these questions on BookMyGarage.
