Great customer service!
Good, honest garage
"I was kept informed at all stages, and they let me know costs of work before they did it for me to give the OK - so no nasty surprises! The car returned running well, and I've had compliments on its appearance and performance following it's homecoming. She's driving really well, too..."
"On time and very helpful, completed job to fabulous standards."

best garage service
"I find the garage on google, and I was very happy with the service, they keep me informed during the repair and after MOT failed...just the best garage in Newport..I definitely recommend"
"Used these before and the customer service is amazing! I work in customer service myself as a manager and something which is really important to me and these guys got it spot on. I was gutted with what work needed to be done but they tried to reassure me and came across like they really cared! Will be my garage of choice moving forward for any work that needs to be done!!"

"Happy overall. Some oil spillage in engine bay which isn’t a real issue, but will smell over time and is easily avoided. That said, will definitely use again"
Great bunch of people!
"Very happy with service and happily going back for more work"
The brakes on your car utilise fluid pressure.
When the brake pedal is depressed, it activates a plunger in the master cylinder,
which pressurises the brake fluid in the pipes and hoses causing the brake components to move.
Brake repairs are one of the most common reasons to visit a garage; all cars need their brake discs and pads replaced at regular intervals. Some of the warning signs for brake failure are squealing or grinding noises when depressing the brakes, or the brake feeling 'spongy' when the pedals is pressed. And of course if you need to brake increasingly hard to effectively slow or stop your car, then you could well be looking at brake replacement.
There are two main types of brake systems: disc brakes and drum brakes.
Disc brake systems are comprised of two pads per wheel, which clamp down on the brake disc when the brake pedal is depressed. When the fluid becomes pressurised, it sends a plunger in the calliper forward, forcing the brake pads on either side of the brake disc to squeeze it, which results in the slowing and stopping of the car.
Drum brakes operate in the same way as disc brakes, but with a different design. They both use friction to slow and stop the car, but drum brakes use shoes, instead of pads. The shoes are inside the steel brake drum itself, which spins with the wheel. When brake pressure is applied, a component called the wheel cylinder expands, forcing the brake shoes apart and towards the inside edge of the drum. Drum brakes are usually found on older vehicles, or just on the rear brake system.
What do you need from your garage?
This might sound like a question with an obvious answer: you need a garage that can service or repair your car quickly and at a good price. But think again and you may realise there are other factors that affect your choice of garage in Newport. If you need to bring your son or daughter with you when you take your car in, are there toys in the waiting room? If you’re dropping the car off between school and work, can you pick up a cup of coffee while you’re there? Might the garage even collect your car and drop it back at your house after the work is done? You can find answers to all these questions on BookMyGarage.
