"I have always found VGS to be one of the most reliable. They fix any issue."
Overall happy customer.
"Guys, could be better in estimating time of collection or give a call 10-15 min before arrival as i was caught by surprise and also considerably later (9pm) than estimated (between 5-7pm). Otherwise good communication and good service."
"Great garage, really quick service and explained everything properly to me."
Great, would go back
"Happy with the MOT test and the quickness of it. Easy of booking online and competitive prices. Have used them before for tyres and have been great. Would go back"
"Very happy with the service & MOT. Collected my car from my house and delivered back with no issues and great value for money."
Just SO helpful - amazed
"Exceptional service - I was really desperate for help and not only did they get my car sorted, they showed me how to stop it happening again, topped up all my levels and sorted out new wipers for me and charged me very little to do so . A completely different experience than I have ever had before at a garage - I've moved out of the area so I wont be able to use any more which is why i wanted to leave a review to let everyone else know."
Friendly, helpful service
"Needed a MOT done quickly, Hillclimb fitted it in and arranged for me to get to work, and back to the garage once the MOT had been done. Excellent service."
Friendly and helpful
"Happy with everything too many garages patronise women they didn’t which was good"
The brakes on your car utilise fluid pressure.
When the brake pedal is depressed, it activates a plunger in the master cylinder,
which pressurises the brake fluid in the pipes and hoses causing the brake components to move.
Brake repairs are one of the most common reasons to visit a garage; all cars need their brake discs and pads replaced at regular intervals. Some of the warning signs for brake failure are squealing or grinding noises when depressing the brakes, or the brake feeling 'spongy' when the pedals is pressed. And of course if you need to brake increasingly hard to effectively slow or stop your car, then you could well be looking at brake replacement.
There are two main types of brake systems: disc brakes and drum brakes.
Disc brake systems are comprised of two pads per wheel, which clamp down on the brake disc when the brake pedal is depressed. When the fluid becomes pressurised, it sends a plunger in the calliper forward, forcing the brake pads on either side of the brake disc to squeeze it, which results in the slowing and stopping of the car.
Drum brakes operate in the same way as disc brakes, but with a different design. They both use friction to slow and stop the car, but drum brakes use shoes, instead of pads. The shoes are inside the steel brake drum itself, which spins with the wheel. When brake pressure is applied, a component called the wheel cylinder expands, forcing the brake shoes apart and towards the inside edge of the drum. Drum brakes are usually found on older vehicles, or just on the rear brake system.
What do you need from your garage?
