"Great service very friendly staff, quick service"
"Cost was good"
"Following an issue with power which I couldn't isolate as a battery, alternator or wiring fault, G C Autos was able to quickly locate the problem (fault in the battery) and fix the issue."
"Service was extremely efficient. Dropped car off at 8:30 and received a call by 9:30 to say it was finished"
"The staff at GC AUTOS were brilliant. Car went in at 9am. Picked up shortly after 12pm. All work carried out with no bother and was absolutely brilliant value for money. A small, independent garage that I will be using all the time for my services and anything else I need. Will be recommending to all family and friends."
"Always reliable and very helpful, can't fault the service provided!"
"Picked car up promptly, great value and friendly"
"So happy with the service provided"
Great value service
"Work carried out on a Saturday and finished by 1pm which is perfect when you work 9-5! Work was done to a great quality and car left clean, even given a quick wash. Excellent price for combined service and MOT compared to Kwik Fit and other chain garages. Advice given on what may be required in the future which is really helpful."
My new favourite garage
"Friendly service , great prices , no flim flam or suggestion of unnecessary work, just a good honest service. Highly recommended."

The brakes on your car utilise fluid pressure.
When the brake pedal is depressed, it activates a plunger in the master cylinder,
which pressurises the brake fluid in the pipes and hoses causing the brake components to move.
Brake repairs are one of the most common reasons to visit a garage; all cars need their brake discs and pads replaced at regular intervals. Some of the warning signs for brake failure are squealing or grinding noises when depressing the brakes, or the brake feeling 'spongy' when the pedals is pressed. And of course if you need to brake increasingly hard to effectively slow or stop your car, then you could well be looking at brake replacement.
There are two main types of brake systems: disc brakes and drum brakes.
Disc brake systems are comprised of two pads per wheel, which clamp down on the brake disc when the brake pedal is depressed. When the fluid becomes pressurised, it sends a plunger in the calliper forward, forcing the brake pads on either side of the brake disc to squeeze it, which results in the slowing and stopping of the car.
Drum brakes operate in the same way as disc brakes, but with a different design. They both use friction to slow and stop the car, but drum brakes use shoes, instead of pads. The shoes are inside the steel brake drum itself, which spins with the wheel. When brake pressure is applied, a component called the wheel cylinder expands, forcing the brake shoes apart and towards the inside edge of the drum. Drum brakes are usually found on older vehicles, or just on the rear brake system.
What do you need from your garage?
This might sound like a question with an obvious answer: you need a garage that can service or repair your car quickly and at a good price. But think again and you may realise there are other factors that affect your choice of garage in Gateshead. If you need to bring your son or daughter with you when you take your car in, are there toys in the waiting room? If you’re dropping the car off between school and work, can you pick up a cup of coffee while you’re there? Might the garage even collect your car and drop it back at your house after the work is done? You can find answers to all these questions on BookMyGarage.
