"Great service kept me up to date every step of the way would recommend"
"The staff at GC AUTOS were brilliant. Car went in at 9am. Picked up shortly after 12pm. All work carried out with no bother and was absolutely brilliant value for money. A small, independent garage that I will be using all the time for my services and anything else I need. Will be recommending to all family and friends."
Great service as usual.
"I've been going to Troy Autopoint (Harehills Lane) for several years now and wouldn't think of going anywhere else."
"Really happy with service provided by Linda and staff at C.A.T.S. Kept informed all the way through - have used before and would use again - high recommendation - thank you ."
"Don't use anyone else now"
Great affordable service!
"Very happy with the MOT & Service I had done. No hidden charges which you may get from most garages. Will definitely recommend to family & friends. Was very happy with the car being hovered and wash also."
"Very happy with the service and the option to be able to pick my car up after they had closed"
Great service & value
"I dropped my car off at the garage, which is easy to find and local to city centre (20 min walk). I received a call in the afternoon to notify me of recommended work on my car. I was quoted the price of parts and labour, but was not pressured into having the work done there and then, which I greatly appreciate. I was then called back once my service was complete. I arrived at the garage, where my car was waiting out front. The customer service was friendly and polite from the guys that I dealt with. I made payment, received all my paperwork and service book and drove away. I will recommend Auto Nation and will be sure to use this place again. Thank you."
"My original booking was unavailable but an alternative appointment was easily arranged using email. Everybody I spoke to in the garage was friendly and welcoming. My car was dealt with as per my requests and I have no hesitation in recommending this garage services."
The brakes on your car utilise fluid pressure.
When the brake pedal is depressed, it activates a plunger in the master cylinder,
which pressurises the brake fluid in the pipes and hoses causing the brake components to move.
Brake repairs are one of the most common reasons to visit a garage; all cars need their brake discs and pads replaced at regular intervals. Some of the warning signs for brake failure are squealing or grinding noises when depressing the brakes, or the brake feeling 'spongy' when the pedals is pressed. And of course if you need to brake increasingly hard to effectively slow or stop your car, then you could well be looking at brake replacement.
There are two main types of brake systems: disc brakes and drum brakes.
Disc brake systems are comprised of two pads per wheel, which clamp down on the brake disc when the brake pedal is depressed. When the fluid becomes pressurised, it sends a plunger in the calliper forward, forcing the brake pads on either side of the brake disc to squeeze it, which results in the slowing and stopping of the car.
Drum brakes operate in the same way as disc brakes, but with a different design. They both use friction to slow and stop the car, but drum brakes use shoes, instead of pads. The shoes are inside the steel brake drum itself, which spins with the wheel. When brake pressure is applied, a component called the wheel cylinder expands, forcing the brake shoes apart and towards the inside edge of the drum. Drum brakes are usually found on older vehicles, or just on the rear brake system.
A French dealer renowned for the sporty qualities of its small cars, Peugeot is as popular now as it was nearly a hundred years ago. A part of PSA Peugeot Citroen, the family business that preceded the current company was founded back in 1810, although in those days they manufactured bicycles and coffee mills!
While still known for its small, sporty and economical models, Peugeot now make a wide variety of differently shaped and sized cars. You’ll also notice that Peugeot have defiantly skipped the long-standing trend of naming their cars, instead choosing to use numbers and letters (3008, 5008, and RCZ, for example).
Today the range includes three sporty vehicles - the 208 and 308 GTi, which are hatchbacks, and the RCZ coupe, among others. The range spans ultra compact cars to spacious SUVs, and family friendly vehicles to more flashier options, like the aforementioned RCZ.
Located around the shores of the River Avon and the Severn Estuary, Bristol is a culturally diverse, socially abuzz, alternative and independent city. Small wonder that in 2014 The Times named it the best city in the UK to live. It’s also one of the sunniest.
Bristol is famous for Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s Clifton Suspension Bridge, which is well worth a visit if you don’t happen to drive across it on your way into the city. There is a small toll on this Grade I listed structure which forms part of the B3129. But if you suffer from vertigo don’t look down, the deep drop to the River Avon and Gorge is spectacular and changes with the tide.
