"Brilliant service as always"
"Very happy with the quick service and workmanship."
"My car was picked up and dropped off within reasonable times and I was informed how much extra the extra work would be before they carried out the work. I mentioned that my car door squeaked when they picked up the car and they said they would have a look at it for me but it still squeaks."
"I was given an upfront price and the option of th garage collecting my car from my home and dropping it back off free of charge. This was extremely helpful as I have a toddler and am heavily pregnant. The service was top quality and great prices. Highly recommend to anyone and will us from now on."
convenient and reliable
"Happy my car is sorted"
The brakes on your car utilise fluid pressure.
When the brake pedal is depressed, it activates a plunger in the master cylinder,
which pressurises the brake fluid in the pipes and hoses causing the brake components to move.
Brake repairs are one of the most common reasons to visit a garage; all cars need their brake discs and pads replaced at regular intervals. Some of the warning signs for brake failure are squealing or grinding noises when depressing the brakes, or the brake feeling 'spongy' when the pedals is pressed. And of course if you need to brake increasingly hard to effectively slow or stop your car, then you could well be looking at brake replacement.
There are two main types of brake systems: disc brakes and drum brakes.
Disc brake systems are comprised of two pads per wheel, which clamp down on the brake disc when the brake pedal is depressed. When the fluid becomes pressurised, it sends a plunger in the calliper forward, forcing the brake pads on either side of the brake disc to squeeze it, which results in the slowing and stopping of the car.
Drum brakes operate in the same way as disc brakes, but with a different design. They both use friction to slow and stop the car, but drum brakes use shoes, instead of pads. The shoes are inside the steel brake drum itself, which spins with the wheel. When brake pressure is applied, a component called the wheel cylinder expands, forcing the brake shoes apart and towards the inside edge of the drum. Drum brakes are usually found on older vehicles, or just on the rear brake system.
Citroën is a major French automobile manufacturer, and has been part of the PSA Peugeot Citroen group since 1976. Founded in 1919 by French industrialist André-Gustave Citroën, within eight years Citroën had become Europe’s largest car manufacturer and the 4th largest in the world.
Citroën also produced Europe’s first completely steel-bodied car, all the way back in 1924. Ten years later, Citroën introduced further innovation to the world of automobiles with the Traction Avant, the world's first mass-produced front wheel drive car, and also one of the first cars with no chassis frame holding the mechanical components.
In the following years, Citroën produced the world’s first hydropneumatic self-levelling suspension system, the first mass production car with disc brakes, and swiveling headlights in cars, which allow for greater visibility on the road. You can say they are good at innovation!
