"Picked car up, serviced, mot'd it and cleaned the outside (was filthy) and then dropped it back."
"Very happy with the service "
"I had my MOT due, however I also had two children with me a holiday club to get to and a baby with chicken pox... so I needed my car to be out of action for as short amount of time as possible. The wonderful lady who booked us in really worked her magic to make sure everything went like clockwork and the car was only gone for as minimum amount of time as they could. Car flew through, guys were lovely as always, been going to Johnson’s for years now. The new premises are looking great too. Thank you all. Can’t recommend them enough."
"Wish I'd brought my summer discount paper flyer with me for the 15 % discount on repairs, but I'll definitely be returning my car, when required, in future"
Efficient and friendly
"Happy with this garage from start to finish"
"Quick and easy"
"Proffesional and good job"
"Quality of the work is great, have absolutely no complaints. Communication during the work could have been much improved as I often had to call to find out information such as if the repairs would take more than one day - which for most people is quite important information. They would also call much later than expected; was told that they would phone first thing in the morning with a quote for repairs however I didn't receive a call until almost 11. Overall good, but did find them a bit expensive and they could improve communication."
"Fast service. Russell was very helpful and professional."
"Used the garage over the last few years very trustworthy."
Great Service for MOT
"Recommend to anyone - great service and friendly staff. Very easy booking process and work carried out professionally and to high standard"
The brakes on your car use fluid pressure. When you press the brake pedal, it activates a plunger in the master cylinder; this pressurises the brake fluid in the pipes and hoses, which makes the brake components move.
Even though brake fluid sits in a sealed system it can still absorb moisture over time, and that can lead to corrosion. Moisture also lowers the boiling temperature of brake fluid which can reduce braking effectiveness, especially if your vehicle makes repeated hard stops. Check your car's owner manual to see when the manufacturer recommends replacing the brake fluid.
Or you can use BookMyGarage to find a garage near you to check the state of your brake fluid - it's a simple test and they will have the right tools to do it for you.
A heritage German brand that has been a favourite for decades, it’s hard to throw a stone without hitting someone who owns or has owned a Golf at some point in their life! It’s essentially a rite of passage for anyone searching for a safe, reliable, and family-friendly car.
Interestingly, Volkswagen has three cars in the top 10 list of best-selling cars of all time - the Volkswagen Golf, the Beetle, and the Passat. Not bad, right?
Known for their reliability and value for money, VWs have long served as a reasonably priced little sibling to the more luxurious Audi, receiving excellent reviews across the board when it comes to the motoring press. You’d be hard pressed to find a range of cars as practical, safety-conscious, attractive and just generally good to drive as a Volkswagen.
How can you save money (and the environment) while you drive?
As every garage owner will tell you, there are some tried and tested ways to cut down on your petrol costs (and consumption) while you’re out and about in Deadman's Cross or beyond. One is to shut your windows. If you can hear that wind noise in your car it’s costing you more to drive. This is because the car becomes less aerodynamic and has to work harder to motor along. Removing a roof rack will improve your fuel efficiency for the same reason. Another useful tip is to combine short trips into one; each time you drive after your car has been parked for a while the engine will be cold and need to use a lot more fuel for the first 5 miles or so. If you do one trip from school drop-off to supermarket to office you’ll use far less fuel than if you do all those trips individually.
