We love cool cars here at BookMyGarage, and what car could be cooler than the Batmobile?

Since its arrival in 1966, the iconic Batmobile has had many incarnations. With each passing decade, this iconic supercar undergoes various changes and evolutions.

As one of the most recognisable vehicles in television and cinema history, you may already have a favourite version of this stylish vehicle.

In the 1930s and early 40s Batman’s car barely featured in the comic strips. When it was eventually drawn, it was originally just a bulk standard red convertible with elongated wings and a bat emblem emblazoned on the front.

That seems pretty boring considering the versions that came later on!

In fact, it wasn't until the 1966 TV series that the first real Batmobile appeared. This initial version was actually a converted Ford Lincoln Futura. This was a concept car that never made onto the forecourt.

It only took three weeks for the car to be transformed into a vehicle that was fit for a superhero and the rest, as they say, is history.

As our infographic below shows, the Batmobile has evolved and been brought up to date many times. Each version of this iconic car offers something that appeals to each new generation.

We had a lot of fun when putting this infographic together, and hope you will have just as much fun learning about the evolution of the Batmobile...
