As this year draws to a close, it is always nice to have something to look forward to. For the car enthusiasts among us, there are plenty of events, movies and tv shows to get excited about in 2023.

Autosport International (National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham)

12th to 15th January 

Said to be Europe’s largest motorsport show, the first two days of the Autosport International will be ‘trade only’ in an effort to encourage networking, and will focus on the latest innovations in the automotive industry. The event will be made up of three shows - Autosport Engineering, Autosport International and Performance & Tuning. 

 

The London Classic Car Show (Olympia Grand, London)

24th to 26th February

The London Classic Car Show is a must for fans of classic cars. In its ninth year running, this exhibition even features interviews with legends in motoring, and there will be live musical performances on the main stage for all to enjoy. 

 

Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show (National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham)

24th to 26th March

The Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show is the perfect day out for classic car lovers. You can indulge in your passion for classic cars, finish a restoration project, or attend a practical workshop where you can enhance these skills. 

 

DR1VR Show 2023 (British Motor Museum, Warwickshire)

16th April 

If you like modified cars, then you will love the DR1VR Show. Entry to both museums in the British Motor Museum complex will be free, and there will be many show cars to look at and live music to listen to. You can even apply if you have a car you would like to show at the event. 

 

Bangers ‘n’ Flash Auto Show 2023 (Craigtoun Country Park, Mount Melville)

25th June

Taking place in Craigtoun Country Park - just 2 miles from St Andrews - the Bangers ‘n’ Flash Auto Show 2023 will celebrate all kinds of cars. There are even trophies up for grabs for Flashiest Motor and Best Banger, so you don’t want to miss it.

 

Festival of Speed (The Goodwood Estate, Chichester)

13th to 16th July

Commemorating 75 years of motorsport at Goodwood, the Festival of Speed will celebrate its 30th year in 2023. There is an early bird discount available for tickets booked before 31st March 2023, and free entry for children aged 12 and under.

 

Bridge Classic & Sports Car & Bike Show 2023 (The Nursery, Woodbridge)

30th July

Entry is free to the Bridge Classic & Sports Car & Bike Show 2023. All makes, models, and years of vehicle are welcome at the show - classic or modern. 

 

The Aberdeen Performance Car Show 2023 (Castle Fraser, Inverurie)

6th August

Just 15 miles out of Aberdeen, the Aberdeen Performance Car Show 2023 is one of the biggest car shows in the North of Scotland. 

 

The British Motor Show (International Exhibition & Conference Centre, Farnborough)

17th to 20th August

With stunt and live arena shows on offer, the British Motor Show is definitely worth attending. There will be test drives and rides for both children and adults. There will be marketplace sellers, merchandise, gifts, and the latest in car technology on offer. Why not pay a visit, and take a look at some of the new, modified, motorsport, super and classic cars on display? You can buy adult or family tickets, or even a four day ticket if you want to enjoy more than one day at the event.

Fast X, dir. by Louis Leterrier

Due for release in May 2023, Fast X is the tenth main instalment in the Fast and the Furious franchise. With Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, and Michelle Rodriguez all returning, you won’t want to miss seeing it on the big screen.

 

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, dir. by Steven Caple Jr.

The seventh instalment in the Transformers film franchise,Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is set for release in June 2023. A stand-alone sequel to Bumblebee (2018), the film is set in 1994, and centres around a pair of archaeologists and their relationship with the Autobots. A Transformers movie is sure to be a hit with car lovers and action fans alike.

 

Gran Turismo, dir. by Neill Blomkamp 

Arriving in cinemas in August 2023, the name Gran Turismo may be familiar and appealing to fans of the video game series of the same name. Focusing on a teenage Gran Turismo player who wants to become a race car driver, the film is actually based on a true story. If you’ve enjoyed playing these video games over the years, then why not use this film as the perfect opportunity to indulge in some nostalgia?

Classic Car Garage (ClockWork Films)

Currently in production, the release date for channel Yesterday’s Classic Car Garage has not yet been announced, but it is scheduled for release sometime in 2023. This observational documentary series follows Colin Denton - a head mechanic who runs a North London garage which classic car owners can visit if they need assistance. With years of automotive expertise behind him, Colin and his team of experts will diagnose potential issues and help classic car owners keep their cars on the road. If classic cars are your thing, then be sure to keep this show in mind for 2023.
